Reviews on Japanese food in Hong Kong, China. Hong Kong is one of the most exciting and diverse cities in Asia. Central to Hong Kong’s uniqueness is the blend of Chinese culture and British Colonial influences, which is apparent when exploring the various districts. Given how beautifully preserved its history is, Hong Kong is one of the best destinations for urban exploration. Beyond the concrete jungle, Hong Kong offers country parks and white sand beaches – it’s a city where anything is truly possible.

Came here because I’m staying nearby and based in reviews.Ordered a bunch of dishes. Sushi was sensational albeit horribly expensive for the top end tuna (usd 10 per piece). But totally worth it. Eel skewer was good. But that’s pretty much where the good news ends. Tempura sweet potato were undercooked and floury. Scallop was expensive over cooked and just not that tasty. My last 2 dishes were forgotten. Wen I enquired after 30 min the waiter told me they take longer because the beef is frozen. Not surprisingly the beef skewer was chewed and horrible.Overall the raw fish was amazing but that’s about it. Meal was expensive overall and really use soso

We paid 780 Hong Kong dollars for a few small side dishes that were horribly bland. The octopus teriyaki was bland also.I live in Sydney which is an expensive city and was born and raised in Chicago which is an expensive city but this was the most overpriced restaurant compared to portion size I have ever eaten at in my life.Avoid at all costs unless you want to file for bankruptcy!!!Dear RyaCho, We hope you a had pleasant visit to Hong Kong, it certainly is an expensive city ( ranked 1st in the world alongside Paris and Singapore) for consumers and businesses alike. Our food philosophy sources the best ingredients possible, we also prepare our food fresh daily and always strive to reflect value for money. In keeping with the Brazilian led concept, it is a lot about small plates and sharing. Please don’t hesitate to ask our team for recommendations, portion sizes, so we can set expectations based on your appetite. The octopus teriyaki is new to the menu, so we’re eager to hear constructive feedback to improve. Please feel free to share any further thoughts on your food experience with me directly ( [email protected] ) Obrigado,Alex

For their ala carte, they served snack, soup, meat, seafood, rice, udon and drinks etc. Mentaiko onigiri - Seaweed was very thin and crispy and mentaiko was flavourful and crispy. It was chewy as well. Chicken wings - It was grilled till very soft and smooth, flavourful as well. It was juicy too. Grilled eel - It was grilled till soft and crispy, with charred skins at the edge. Spicy powder provided help to enhance the taste too. Ox tongue - It was tender and juicy, tender as well. Pineapple - It was grilled till crispy at the edges, and yet still very juicy when i took a bite. It was very sweet as well.

food quality is good, all skewers and dishes are up to standard.yet the choice of food was rather limited, we would like more food after first round ordering, but not much choice so we could only repeat some of the orders.service-wise was average, but the space was pretty small, so the seats were densely packed, where one can hardly enjoy the dinner.mindful when making reservation, be sure you're getting a proper table as we were assigned to the table next to entrance for once and then a counter area which the table was just with 1 foot depth from the wall.we will miss the food but likely not the restaurant.Dear DHui,I apologize despite having our hits, we also presented some misses. If you do change your mind, please ask for the Boss and let him know dhui from Tripadvisor could use some help with food recommendations! We have over 30 fried skewer selections, 19 grilled skewers and several appetizers and carbs for you to choose from. If the selection still remains few and far between, please feel free to drop us your number and we'll notify you when our seasonal specials menu has new items (or stay connected to our facebook/IG: janjanhkg). As for your table selection, if you do make a booking, please request the table type that best suits your occasion. Last but not least, we have a Tsim Sha Tsui location which some customers have found the seating more spacious (https://en.tripadvisor.com.hk/Restaurant_Review-g294217-d15904496-Reviews-Jan_Jan_Kushikatsu-Hong_Kong.html)Best,
