Reviews on Healthy food in Punta Arenas, Chile. Overlooking the Strait of Magellan, this isolated city in southern Patagonia bustles with windswept trekkers en route to glacier-filled Torres del Paine National Park or an Antarctic cruise. Before transiting, take note of the mansion-lined main square, Plaza Muñoz Gamero; the City Cemetery, with its elaborate tombs; and the Sara Braun Palace and Braun Menendez Residence, a preserved slice of the city's wealthy pioneer past. Daily flights connect the city with Santiago and Ushuaia.

Restaurante especializado en pescados y mariscos, ofrecemos una experiencia gastronómica inspirados en Magallanes como puerta de entrada a la Antártica.
The restaurant looks like an old victorian house and inside they took great effort to make you feel like traveling back in time. We just loved our waiter who also recommended the best wine and food. The seafood was right on point and very nicely prepared.

There are several restaurants within the El Mercadito (2nd & 3rd floors) to choose. We ate at the Cocineria for lunch, and had three delicious empanadas (shrimp, crab, scallops). Menu offers a wide selection of food, all at reasonable prices. Service was friendly, quick, and English spoken. Short walking distance from where the cruise ships dock. Hope this helps for your next visit.

As we came back to town from a morning excursion, we came into have a late breakfast or early lunch.(12:15) They limited the menu to ONLY pizzas. We asked if we could have crepes or sandwiches that were offered on the menu but they insisted only on pizza. We ordered the pizza, the first one was good, the second one that had come out was burnt and difficult to eat, and the third one was alright. In addition to the pizza we had ordered coffee, when we looked over they had a fairly nice espresso machine, but instead used a smaller machine with pre-filled capsules of some sort. The coffee was not good, and not made to the order we specified. Wish we had good experience like other reviews, but the service had been the biggest issue. I would recommend looking elsewhere in town.

We had only one day in port on our South American Cruise, but were hoping to get some Crab. La Marmita unfortunately did not have the crab however we were not disappointed. We shared a wonderful Ceviche starter then I had a delicious salmon dish with vegetables and my husband had a lamb stew.together with a glass of Savignon Blanc each..The Restaurant was full downstairs but we almost had the upper floor to ourselves, the decor is very bright and fun and the staff friendly and efficient. Only drawback is cash only , so be prepared !!

This was probably our favorite restaurant during our three week trip in Chile. The view is magnificent - you gaze across the Strait of Magellan to Tierra del Fuego. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The drinks are very original and delicious, and the food is excellent. We loved the decor as well, with many furnishings and decorations from farm implements and tools. My wife had the lamb shank and I had a wonderful steak. Be sure to give this place a try!Mr. BillThank you so much for your kind words, we truly appreciate all the things you said.We feel very happy to know that you can noticed and enjoyed all the details in our restaurant and in the hotel.Kindest regards!
