Built in the early twentieth century , it was one of the first settlements in the region, where Gambusinos , explorers and people in search of adventures , as well as revolutionary , spent their leisure time playing poker, drinking tequila and listening to upbeat songs to the beat guitar and accordion in the company of beautiful women in the region. Currently remodeled, we offer our guests . hiking, horseback tours , breakfast included , restaurant , massage and a service that will surprise !!!
It is not run by owners so they don't invest in new pillows, mattresses and bed covers. It is also dirty and dusty. Stayed one night and run away. Expensive for what you receive For the 500 pesos it cost there are other best places. Cleaner and nicer. It is also very cold

Quaint older place. Clean and attractive rooms, with air conditioning, which is essential during the summer. A friendly owner who is very knowledgeable about the history of the area. (Don't miss the Satevó Mission.) No TV, but it has WiFi, which is unusual in an area this remote. The cleaning woman did some laundry for me for a very reasonable price. Be aware that there are no ATM's in this town. Oh, and Batopilas is free of COVID-19 as of late July 2020; no need to wear masks or socially distance.

Hostal 697 is the first pet friendly hostel in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. We are located in the main central area of the city, near Paso del Norte theatre, cafes, bars, 5 minutes-bus from Juarez downtown, 10 minutes-bus from the U.S. Border and 20 minutes-bus from U.S. Consulate. Our friendly staff will give you tips and tourist information during your stay so you can enjoy our city and its neighbor El Paso, TX. Hostal 697 opens up to the public on May 1st. 2013.
According to the map, this hostal is located on 697 Calle Agustín Melgar. Look at the photos, though. Either the address is wrong or the building was remodeled before being shut down. This would actually be a decent location, though the surrounding neighborhood is not very good looking, about 10-15 minutes east of the Santa Fe bridge. If I find this place, I'll update.

We were kindly collected Armando at the train station and driven the 1.5 km to the Cabana. With no common language it was difficult to communicate. He had no English and we no Spanish. The Cabana was basic but the cleanliness was below par with no washing up liquid to clean the coffee pot. We had to ask for toilet paper. The beds had linen with holes in then. The bottom sheet did not fit the mattress and came off while sleeping. The pillows were very old foam filled and lumpy. All in all I could not recommend this accommodation. New linen and more care to cleanliness would certainly go a long way. On the other hand. The food at the restaurant was lovely.
