Home to America's favorite Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef, burgers, salads, and chocolate cake.
I'm an avid hotdog lover being born and raised in Chicago. While I've had my share of excellent hotdogs in standalone restaurants it's hard to find a good one in a restaurant chain...that is until I tasted the dogs from This place. Excellent! Mouthwatering! Fulfilling! Whether you eat in or do the drive through you won't be disappointed by either the atmosphere or any of the food.

The Pit Rib House has mastered the art of barbecue using the finest cuts of meat and then slow cooking them over an open wood pit. The result is a delicious, authentic wood-smoked flavor that guests have come to love. Our world famous ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender and smothered in our sweet and tangy sauce.
In the neighborhood and it looked like a nice place. Also, I love BBQ.
Decor is fantastic. I enjoyed all the old stuff they have on the walls. Very comfortable, very clean.
Didn't have brisket my normal BBQ choice so I went with the ribs.
Told the server I was in a hurry...food came in 5 min.
Ribs are good. 1/2 falling off the bone but still need a pull. Sauce on the ribs seemed different than the jar on the table. Sorry to say but I didn't think the sauce on the table was special...rib sauce tasted much better. Cooking it?
Good cole slaw and fries.
Even though I gave it a 4 if I lived around there I'd be going a few times a month.
Really like everything.

Can't believe I have never been here. We sat outside. Love the tables made from trees, the fire pit, love the ambiance. Had delicious burgers and freshly made fries. Very good bread pudding. Walked through the inside also, very WI supper clubby to me, love it. The place is huge but even for a Thursday night it was busy. Take note of the logs everywhere, lots of thought went into all this. We will be back!

We did a lot of business at the Original Plush Horse the other day. We left with a birthday cake, two pies, cupcakes, a couple of chocolate milk shakes, a chocolate soda, a banana split and eight--count 'em, eight--quarts of ice cream. The Original Plush Horse at 12301 South 86th Avenue in Palos Park has been the "sweetest" landmark in the south suburbs for more than 75 years. You can't go there and just walk away with a waffle cone, can you? The trick is to decide which of about 40 flavors of ice cream you want to take home with you. I'll admit there are a couple of flavors that I'd like to see on the list--and I've make ownership aware of them--but it's hard to complain when there are so many delicious options. You can't take them all home, right? So on every visit to the Original Plush Horse, we choose eight. This time, we selected butter pecan, chocolate chip, cookies and cream, peach, cinnamon, strawberry, coconut gelato and apple pie. Oh, did I forget pralines and cream and banana fudge gelato and Rocky Road? Next time. Maybe by then they will have added orange sherbet or orange pineapple or rainbow sherbet or chocolate almond to the menu.

Shwarma, kabobs, lamb, non-alcoholic beverages, juices.
Went again to Al Bawadi and again it was amazing
Was visiting town for a show and went with a colleague from work.
We order the food and it was delicious. Hummus, baba ghanouj and a sample with a variety of meats and rice.
The food was enough for 4 or more, which means portions and very well served.
For desert we ordered Kenafa, perfectly cooked and well served.
They don’t serve alcohol, which is usual for a pure middle eastern restaurant, but the mint lemonade was fantastic.
Bill was $75 for two which is more than reasonable.
Service was friendly and we were greeted from the entrance until the end.
Great place, will definitely come back.

First timer at this pleasant restaurant with a local, eco-friendly food philosophy.
The ambience is clean, black and white contemporary with great natural lighting from windows surrounding the large space with both small and large white tablecloth tables, and comfy booths. There is a small bar located near the entrance with a few small tables and stools to seat eight.
The menu carefully explains that all ingredients for the entrees and sides are carefully chosen...very impressive. There is also a gluten free/vegan menu. Both have quite a variety, and it seems even the "usual suspects" are prepared with a unique twist.
I chose the White Forest omelet made with egg whites, lots of juicy seasoned veggies, topped with a modest portion of melted cheese-perfect! I opted to pay an extra dollar to substitute very fresh fruit for the hash browns and chose the two small pancakes to round out a wonderful lunch entrée. The portions were just right; very satisfying without the doggie bag! The smoked chicken Caesar type salad included black beans. The hot tea was served with a full spoon of honey on the saucer which wasn't noticed until it dripped all over the table....I wonder how often that happens?
We enjoyed the ambience and the food, but I did not offer a 4 or 5 star rating because our waiter was very abrupt, rushed, seemed quite irritated, never engaged us or smiled and frankly...he was rude. He made us very uncomfortable.
In spite of him, I would not hesitate to return, expecting the same quality food and more amiable staff.

Andy's Frozen Custard is a quick service frozen dessert business. We are a freestanding restaurant with drive through and walk-up service windows. We sell delicious frozen custard treats. Andy's has a wide variety of treats from simple vanilla or chocolate cones to seasonal favorites like our Pumpkin Pie Concretes and Strawberry Shortcake Sundaes.
Some historians trace the origin of frozen custard to Coney Island, New York, in the early 20th century. By the 1930s, the Midwest had discovered frozen custard. The Kirkhoff family of Lafayette, Indiana, opened its first stand in 1932. Today, Milwaukee sells more frozen custard than anywhere else in the world. For its part, Andy's Frozen Custard began serving in 1986 in Osage Beach, Missouri. Now it has 11 locations in the Chicago area, three in the city, and locations in nine other states. My favorite stop is at 9507 South Cicero Avenue in Oak Lawn, in the Green Oak Shopping Center. What makes frozen custard special? And why is Andy's so good? Frozen custard is cream, sugar, vanilla extract and a few other trade secrets. It is creamier than regular ice cream, contains more butterfat and is churned very slowly. The slower turning blades keep air from being mixed into the custard as it freezes. The result is a dessert that is rich, thick and decadent. It is made fresh hourly and served immediately to maintain its luxurious creaminess. Now you know. What separates Andy's from all the rest is its variety. It's an ice cream shop with a drive-through that offers frozen custard, sundaes, concretes, malts, shakes, freezes, floats, old-fashioned sodas, Italian ice, splits, custom cones and cups and 31 toppings. What more can you ask? Our favorites are the triple chocolate concrete, chocolate frozen custard blended with chocolate chip cookie dough and melted chocolate chips; butter pecan concrete, vanilla frozen custard with butterscotch and roasted pecans; German chocolate concrete, chocolate frozen custard blended with brownies, creme caramel and coconut; and Andy's banana split, vanilla frozen custard and a whole banana covered with strawberries, marshmallow creme, crushed nuts and topped with a cherry. Or you might just settle for a hot fudge sundae with pecans. Spring flavors include strawberry shortcake, blueberry and blackberries. In the summer, it's peaches and key lime pie. In the fall, the headliner is pumpkin pie. In the winter, be sure to order apple pie, candy cane, Andy nog, peppermint bars and fresh baked chocolate chip Cookie Casanova. There are so many creations and flavors but they all are based on one signature ingredient, Andy's frozen custard.

For outstanding Italian cuisine, look no further than Palermo's 95th. This family run, award winning restaurant specializes in authentic veal, steak, pasta, and fresh seafood creations for lunch and dinner. Established in 1961 by Ben and Nina Calderone, the family tradition still continues thru their sons, Anthony and William. <br>Sherman Kaplen of WBBM radio says, "Palermo's 95th is a true diamond among the southwest side Italian restaurants!" The grilled shrimp and calamari and the 8-finger cavetelli are outstanding. Plus check out their extensive wine and martini list. Featured on WTTW Check Please!
While staying at the Oak Lawn Hilton, I walked into Palermo's 95th anticipating another nice and quiet meal, but had such an excellent experience and meal that I went back again the next night. As a vegetarian, Italian food is always a safe choice (even if it is not on the perfect low carb diet) when not familiar with local restaurants, but I had no idea it would be this good.
Eggplant Parmigiana is my standard upon which I judge any Italian dining and Palermo's not only did not disappoint, but rose to the highest standard. Thinly sliced, expertly breaded and baked to perfection with just the right amount of mozzarella made for a superb meal. I cannot recommend it enough, but the next night I tried the Melanzane, which was even better. From the satisfied smiles I noted at the tables around me, I have no doubt that the rest of the menu was equally amazing. You simply cannot go wrong here.
As I was traveling alone and had time to spare, I elected to add dessert, which was simply sublime. I had the Molton Brownie Truffle topped with Chocolate Chip Mint Ice Cream. You must try it (but it absolutely will NOT fit your calorie plan. Ah well, it was worth it anyway ... twice!)
Last but not least, if you have a chance, ask to be in Kelly R's station. She was wonderful, contributing excellent advice, extremely attentive without being overbearing and was, in general, a breath of fresh air for a traveler who spends way too much time in restaurants across the country.
Thank You Palermo's 95th and Kelly R for a such a delightful experience!
