What can we really say, apart from absolutely incredible from start to finish , we were there celebrating my husbands birthday and we will 110% be back with or without an occasion to celebrate, the staff were so friendly and very welcoming, check in was easy, we made our way to one of the hotels hot tub balcony suites and it’s safe to say there was nothing to disappoint us, they had decorated the bed with petals as I requested and we were given a lovely selection of extras in the fridge, the room was absolutely spotless and beautiful, the hot tub, hot extremely clean and so much fun and to be able to just sit and relax and enjoy a few drinks together, we didn’t want to get out, we ordered from the room service menu of which I have photos because it’s the only thing that I couldn’t find from any photos or reviews before our stay and I think that is helpful to see before you visit, all I can say is the food was phenomenal, we had gammon and the steak and shared between us, it’s has to be the best room service I’ve ever had when staying in any hotel so if you are going then honestly treat yourselves you won’t regret it, the jacuzzi bath was also amazing and a fantastic way to wake yourself up in the morning after sleeping so well the night before The breakfast you have two options to have it delivered to your room or to go to the hotel restaurant which we decided to do and again there is nothing at all I could fault it was delicious and plenty of options We went back up to the room and couldn’t resist having another hour in the hot tub before checking out Honestly if your looking for an incredible and romantic stay or even a relaxing stay somewhere when on business this really is a lovely hotel Thankyou to all the staff and we will definitely be back to see you again soon

Clean and quiet room on first floor, brilliant meal deal, central location with nearby cheap parking (£6.50 for 24 hours). Cannot commend the staff highly enough, friendly, helpful, courteous and efficient, nothing was too much trouble for them no matter how trivial, a special mention and thanks to Felicity and the lady chef! X Highly recommend a stay here.

Twin Oaks Hotel began life as a picturesque row of colliery cottages. It has now been meticulously redesigned and configured to meet the expectations of the modern business and leisure traveller. Twin Oaks Hotel bar has all the character and charm that you would expect to find from a country inn and is complemented by modern relaxing suites plus an extremely well stocked bar. During the warmer months why not sit outside and enjoy the sun in our beer garden with it’s feature water fountain.
This is a convenient hotel near the M1 junction 29. Although it is very close to the motorway there is no traffic sound and it was very quiet even from other guests coming and going. The rooms are small – compact! – but we appreciated that large and comfortable king-sized bed. On the Sunday morning we stayed there was a self-serve full English breakfast buffet but on other days there was a choice of 3 sizes of breakfast. I liked the smallest size breakfast with 2 juicy crumpets! The staff were friendly and helpful and it seemed a more personable place to stay rather than the usual big-chain hotels. There isn't a lift to the upstairs rooms.

There are great transport links and lots of business venues nearby too. Marvel at beautiful Elizabethan gems like Chatsworth House, Renishaw Hall and Bolsover Castle. Or explore Creswell Crags, a limestone gorge honeycombed with caves. Then come back to the hotel for tasty food at our Brewers Fayre restaurant and our new, modern rooms with extra-comfy kingsize Hypnos beds.
Premier inn was as expected, you know what you are getting and I like that. The room was hot, there was a fan provided but didn’t particularly want this on throughout the whole night and whilst I could have opened the window there was a railway line directly behind the hotel which meant that the noise of the trains would have kept me awake, however our stay here was part of a bigger trip and ideal for a short stop off on a longer journey. Premier inns are good value for money.

Only stayed 1 night as a stop over. Great, central location, and free parking was a bonus. Arrived early evening and check in was smooth and efficient. Staff were fabulous, really engaging in us as the customer, a credit to IBIS. Room was basic, as you would expect for IBIS, but for one night, was clean and comfortable. Don’t let being close to a main road put you off, the room was well insulated, so quiet and a good nights sleep was had by all. Kettle and hospitality tray provided with the usual tea bags, milk, biscuits and real cups. Check out, was as smooth as check in – great and efficient. We didn’t make use of the bar or restaurant, but overall a great place for a stop over, clean, comfortable, centrally located, free parking and great staff.

A grand building and grounds with very friendly staff in reception and restaurant and delicious evening meal, but this is not a 4-star experience. It’s about the details. The room was fine with a huge and very comfortable bed, but similar to a standard hotel chain. No information in the room about the hotel or its facilities. They have a ‘secret’ spar (a big part of their offer) but it was SO secret there were no details to attract guests. They have a restaurant but no menu in the room, they apparently offer room service but there are no details. Normally hotel rooms are packed with information about their services and the local area. Several of the TV channels had "weak or no signal" and were unwatchable, the TV power and aerial wires were hanging out of the bottom of the device and furniture was ‘marked’. Not a high-quality experience. This is a wedding venue. There were two taking place when we visited and two the next day so, perhaps, the short stay independent visitor isn’t their target audience. Breakfast was basic and chaotic. The sudden arrival of overnight wedding guests was difficult for staff to keep up with. Breakfast is available until 9.30 which seems very early for this type of venue. It was a challenge to keep the full English buffet and other food replenished. We needed to pay for our breakfast separately but there was no menu or prices. We were told to take what we wanted and “let them know”. It’s the details again: juice glasses which don’t fit under the juice dispenser, basic supermarket bread under a tea towel (which is a fine for toasting but no 4-star range of fresh bread), supermarket yoghurt in plastic pots, small commercial (?) pastries. All of this was served in the converted coach house restaurant, but it wasn’t luxurious. When we booked, the website offered us a 3-course meal for £22 each (an excellent deal!), which we added to our reservation and were informed we needed to pay for the room online and pay for the meal at the hotel. The restaurant staff seemed unsure about this but were brilliant friendly and found a way to discount the meal and just charge us for the wine. It was a little confusing for them and us. I’m sure the pandemic hit hard and they may still be struggling with staffing, but they need to consider their offer to boast the 4-star rating. Mind you, you can land your helicopter if you pre-book!

Traditional British pub in the heart of the Peak District. Surrounded by beautiful walks and spectacular views. We offer five en-suite rooms and also have a three bedroom cottage attached to the pub. Only a short drive from Bakewell, Matlock and Chesterfield you will always have plenty to do. We offer an excellent menu and a warm welcome and our staff will do everything to make our stay memorable.
usually find good food and drink in here especially as it is dog friendly, however we had booked earlier and as soon as we tried placing our order, were told there were no chips left. Strangest thing was we were asked how we wanted our beef cooking on the sunday dinner as if it were a steak ready for the grill. I had assumed it had been slow cooking all day. well when it arrived it was tougher than boot leather. I think they had heated it up in the microwave. Even the dog struggled as we channeled it all under the table for him. The pies weren't much better, they were identical in appearance. I dont think they are cooked on site anymore and look very much like Pukkas. They were served with a slim dose of salad and veg due to no chips.....but with gravy too. We finished up, Didnt bother with desert or extra drinks and am sorry to say will try another pub in the village next time. I saw nothing of the usual owners only members of younger staff........such a shame for a venue that is ideally placed to give excellent food and service in a prime Derbyshire location

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a trip to the Peak District for my husband’s 70th birthday. The online pictures of the rooms don’t really do them justice. The one we had (room 6) was larger than we expected for what we paid. It had been refurbished in January apparently. The bed was really comfortable and there was a modern tv and a desk and chair to work at if you needed to. The bathroom was modern and everything was clean and worked. Plenty of hot water. The towels were lovely and soft. There was an over abundance of sockets, if you can have that, but I counted at least 8 of them without taking into account the ones the tv and kettle were plugged into. I have marked it down as I am not a great fan of those bath soap canisters fixed to the wall as I have arthritis and cannot always press hard enough to get anything out and don’t like using the stuff on my hair. but I had brought my own shower gel and shampoo anyway so wasn’t overly put out. There are tea and coffee supplies in the room and wifi is free but the 2 nights we stayed there was a problem and I couldn’t get connected to their own setup but did manage to connect to a BT hotspot using my home broadband account. The receptionist told me that they had already reported the problem and boosters were going to be fitted. The staff were all very friendly and full of local information. The restaurant is very popular but there is a lot of room. The food is ok but not wonderful, typical pub foods but is very cheap and a lot of it.. hotel guests get a 20% discount on top of that so you can’t really complain.
