Founded by greengrocer Bill Collison, Bill's serves eclectic British dishes made with fresh and seasonal ingredients.
Popped in a week ago. We were a large family group of 11 and hadn't booked. No matter, there was room and staff found us a big enough table. Menu is a little limited but food good and service friendly and quick. Claudie, our waitress, particularly friendly and helpful. This Bill's is very handily placed just off the high street and main shopping areas.

We visited Star Bistro at the National Star in Ullenwood for afternoon tea for my mums 80th birthday with the family and have to say it was an amazing experience. From the first email exchange with Pete Johnson to confirm numbers etc, to the moment we left the bistro after tea, the service was exceptional. Star Bistro is small enough to offer a personal service and it feels like they really care that you enjoy your visit. Head chef Joe Parke emailed to check any favourites he could cater for our bespoke afternoon tea. Everything he provided was simply delicious, there was so much variety, colour and flavour, from the prawn and chicken cones to the rhubarb jelly with honeycomb. We ate so much we rolled out of the bistro and what we couldnât finish was wrapped up for us to take away. If you visit any of the hotels around Gloucestershire offering afternoon tea you wouldnât get a comparable experience, simply because itâs so personal and the staff are so friendly. Our tea with soft drinks and bottomless tea or coffee was £18 per person, or you could have a Prosecco tea for £24 each. The bistro is open 9am to 4pm Monday to Saturday serving fresh, local produce for breakfast and lunch and a variety of cakes made by the college students, and also hold specialty evenings. It might not be in town but trust me, youâll be glad you made time to visit. Star Bistro also supports the work of National Star College so you know your money is being put to good use rather than profiting a huge chain.Thank you Debra for your very kind review and we are really pleased you enjoyed the afternoon tea which is one of our specialities. By eating with us you help support the work of National Star delivering the aspirations of young people with complex disabilities, so thank you, and we hope to see you again soon.Pete JHead of social enterprise
