Great personal experience for my wife and I. The friendliness and desire to make our stay enjoyable was obvious. Nice room, nice view of Lake Charlevoix, nice breakfast, nice people, good rates (October, so non-peak season). An hour away from Traverse City, an hour away from Mackinaw Bridge. 20 minutes from Petoskey (1/2 hour ? from start of Tunnel of Trees North of Petoskey) . Will definitely stay here again whenever we're in the area. Really enjoyed the trip. Thank you, Jeremy, for making our trip so memorable.

Charlevoix's newest lodging facility located 2 miles north of downtown. Directly across from Little Traverse Wheelway and Charlevoix Country Club. Spacious rooms including whirlpool and fireplace suites. Largest hotel breakfast that includes waffles, biscuits and sausage gravy, hard boiled eggs, juice, coffee, cereal, danish, fresh fruit, fruit cups and much more! Indoor pool, sauna, hot tub open year round. Wifi and meeting room. Spacious parking lot for all your RV/boat/bus tour needs. Many upgrades in 2012 including new upgraded bedding and mattresses and 32" flat screen tv's.
Coffee and coffeemaker in every room. Uh, no, there wasn’t either. Not even paper cups. The fridge didn’t have a freezer section and someone had taken the knob off so you couldn’t change the temperature. The breakfast - advertised as the largest, with fresh fruit - wasn’t. There was no fruit whatsoever and no biscuits or sausage gravy, but there were eggs and sausages. The room was fine apart from the missing items, beds were comfy and there were lots of pillows. Lobby was beautiful and staff were pleasant. Still overall a disappointment.

Our stay was great. The room and surrounding areas were clean and well kept. It was very convenient and centrally located to the town. A beautiful park was located across the street. An all around wonderful experience.

What an amazing weekend we had vacationing in Charlevoix! Staying at the MacDougall home was the perfect find to make our weekend extraordinary. The hosts made us feel so welcomed and like we were a part of their family! The rooms were cozy, quiet and very clean. We loved the delicious breakfast and were in awe of the home made maple syrup too! This place was so close to all the shopping and beaches and we look forward to visiting again soon! Thank you for making our anniversary so special.!

Charlevoix's newest luxury boutique hotel. Hotel Earl of Charlevoix is a historic hotel with a chic, cosmopolitan vibe.
We were in Charlevoix for a family wedding, and many of us stayed at hotel Earl. From the ease of check-in and the friendliness of the staff to the lovely Earl Young designed lobby our stay was very pleasant. Location on the main street made it convenient for restaurants, the Mushroom House tour, and shopping. The rooms have been updated and are very comfortable with lovely bathroom. I would highly recommend staying here!

All rooms include 40 inch TV's with cable, free high speed WiFi, coffee maker, mini fridge, heat & AC. Single queen, double bed rooms and a large suite with three beds are available.
Stayed at the motel with friends and we had a great visit. Owner was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in family suite which has plenty of room and enjoyed dinner at picnic table (owner brought gas grill out for us to use). Loved the sound of the brook and view of the lake from our room. Will definitely stay again

This was not a pleasure trip - I live on Beaver Island 32 miles out in Lake Michigan and needed a place to stay pre- and post-surgery - didn't need luxury or extra facilities and VM fit the bill. This place is always clean, well-maintained, family owned and everyone is helpful. I do not understand other reviews complaining about the bathrooms - they are" mid-century modern" - in my winter home in Palm Springs you'd pay extra for these baths - ours was clean and well kept - tho some horizontal surfaces for toiletries would be nice. The refrigerator and microwave were handy. I will stay here again when on the mainland.

Were in town for a wedding and stayed two nights. Had a great time visiting the shops and restaurants as they we all within walking distance. There is a beautiful view of the channel out to Lake Michigan and a great place to watch sunset. We stayed in a suite that had a balcony with a view of the water. Very clean and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff!
