We are the only Motel in the centre of town. Walk to all facilities, restaurants, hotels, clubs and all the local shops. Tracey and Paul are looking forward to your visit and will cater to all your needs. We have an excellent knowledge of the history of Charleville and will be able to assist with booking many of the attractions we have in the area.

Reviewed By katiemackay13Vic and Tracey are the warm, friendly, attentive hosts at this wonderful little motel in the main street of town. Vic is a chef by trade and delivers a scrumptious meal! Our room was absolutely clean and tidy with a very, very comfy bed! You can't go wrong staying at the Waltzing Matilda!

Very comfortable cabins
Reviewed By U8075CYfrancislWe were two couples who stayed in two cabins for three days. The cabins are comfortable, well-appointed and centrally located. The hosts are friendly and helpful. They attended to a couple of minor issues very quickly. We would happily stay there again. Unfortunately since NBN arrived the premises have been a black spot for reception but the owners are spending a lot of money to try to fix the problem.

Reviewed By Brissy2Located just outside of Charleville on the Diamantina Developmental Road. 2 big white horseshoes are on the front gate so you can’t miss it. Bit dusty but they did have some unique ways to slow down the traffic to 10km with two ‘deepish’ trenches along with large tree ‘roots’ to weave around. Lots of signs with directions to the Office. Friendly managers. Payment was cash only. No pets allowed and non-smokers welcomed which suited us. The park is surrounded by bushland – dirt roads within the park (which they do hose down). Cement slabs would have been good for the caravans although some tuffs of grassy areas were available plus they did have drive-through sites. Wide open spaces. Eclectic old rusty collection of cars and farm equipment dotted the park. They had 2 modern amenities block – mixed gender – which had 2 loos, 2 showers and a disabled shower/toilet in each building. Very clean. The semi-open laundry had 2 washing machines ($3 a load) - a good set-up with magazines and chairs. 2 washing lines (rotary “Hills Hoist”) surrounded by green grass. Camp kitchen available. Nightly sunset drinks with other campers around the campfire pit/mound where post stumps served as a side table for your drinks – good idea. Overall a great stay - peaceful and quiet.

The Mulga Country Motor In is set on 2 & 1/2 acres of landscaped grounds. We have a total of 26 ground floor rooms, all non-smoking units with Wi-fi internet available. This amazing complex has a 50 seat licensed restaurant, breakfasts are available in the restaurant or can be taken on the patio overlooking our lagoon pool.

Our friends had the same opinion after they had breakfast the following morning. We would definitely recommend staying here and will again when we next visit Charleville

Reviewed By Russell CWe stayed in this motel for two night on the way to Windorah got stuck due to weather so came back two days later to the Charleville motel. so all up we stayed 4 nights. we really recommend this motel. The owners are so lovely friendly and so helpful. They go above and beyond to make your stay really nice. The rooms were so clean and comfortable and really cozy and nice. we would stay here over and over again. The beds were so comfortable. We stayed on the two visits in two different rooms. The laundry is so handy and lots of hanging space for washing. you can get room service during the week and the food is delicious. one night i had the lamb shanks to die for. we recommend you see the Bilbys and go to the bakery and have a sausage roll the best ever. The Thai restaurant opposite the bakery was really good too. Thankyou for a wonderful stay and will be back.

The rooms are spacious, tidy, with the basic necessities; fridge/freezer, kitchen sink and microwave. Beds are comfy and air con is cool. Didn’t have any issues with the road noise, some is to be expected. The hotel is situated just outside of town, the IGA is a few hundred metres up the road and the pub/RSL is a 15min stroll. Thanks again cosmos inn team! Would definitely stay here again
