Things to do in Don Det
We landed by chance in this magical place, attracted by the out of the ordinary insegne âWelcome to the crazy Mama Piangâ and by the warm yelling of the proprietary âSaba deeâ, welcome, of mama Piang. We were suddenly surrounded by a warm family composed by Mama Piang, Papa Piang, the small son, their eagle (yes, an eagle) and lovely cats running around the restaurant looking for cuddles (or food? :) ) from the chilling customers. The restaurant and rooms offer cozy with a romantic view on the Mekong River, where in the evening is not rare to see small boats with fishermen floating around. The rooms are clean and comfortable with spacious bathrooms and warm water showers. The restaurant offers a very good fresh Lao and international cuisine, prepared in a small open kitchen were it is possible to see Mama or Papa working with fresh and delicious ingredients. The experience with Mama and Papa Piang will be for sure a highlight of my Laos Trip! Thank you!
Hathim Indian Restaurant samosa mix veg pakora chicken tikka masala masala dosai naan mango lassi. Chepest & Home Style Food.Veg and Non veg Taali.
Easy to find not far from the ferry to the mainland. Excellent vegetarian food, potato and eggplant curry was delicious, I canât comment on the meat/fish, good selection of accompaniments. Food can take time to arrive during busy periods but itâs worth the wait as itâs freshly prepared.Thank you very much for your help full review

Cozy restaurant with a nice ambience and open kitchen. Lao and Thai meals, but a little different, with a great vegetarian alternative. Lovely interior with some nice details. Take away is possible.
First impressions were good at this small restaurant. Nice place to sit, drinks order taken promptly. But it was all downhill from this point. No wine available so drinks with spirits ordered. One came very quickly, but it was about 20 minutes before the other 2 appeared. After about 40 minutes we realised our starter had not even begun to be cooked (small cooking area visible from seating area) so we paid for our drinks and left. Definitely not a proper restaurant. There was a lot of staff but only 1 person cooking. We can't recommend this as a place to have dinner.

1st fish restaurant in Don Det.
At the Boathouse you will find excellent food, great friendly people (bountip and mike) and if you want to stay nice bungalows as well.Bountip is an excellent cook and the catfish with potato-mash is not typical loa-food but taste wounderful. It's a great relaxing place and i always love to stay here for a few days.

Lao owned and run by Nisa and her expat husband Sel. We served a wide variety of cuisine including some of the best indian and western food on the island. Browse through our music database or cue some songs on your own device. We like to serve up good tim
After a long day out on the river kayaking we were in need of food! The chicken tika and veg dishes we ordered were great. I did not love the butter chicken. The lime shake was perfect and refreshing. Overall, satisfying food and friendly service.

This place is a gem! The food is absolutely amazing, we've eaten here three nights in a row. Definitely try: pork with garlic and pepper, pumpkin burger and the fish and chips! The cocktails are also good, yet be aware the happy hour of "buy two get one free" means that you have to buy two and get the third one free. And the view is stunning.

Based on reviews we made the trek out to this restaurant. Iâm so glad we did! My favourite place on Don Det to eat. Big portions of really good food. We had the massaman curry and also the chicken with garlic, peppers and vegetables- really tasty. And the setting is so peaceful and relaxing right on the river. There are buffalos around and it just has a great feel. Definitely come here while on Don Det. You wonât regret it!
