Our love of Chinese food has us chasing it all over Illinois and First Wok is the best Chinese food in Champaign/Urbana. It's a small place with only a few tables and does mostly carry out business. The vegetables are always fresh and the meat is high quaility. Tired of half-breaded pieces of fatty or gristly chicken in your General's chicken? This place has huge pieces of crisply breaded chicken and the sauce is good (but not the best sauce in town). For portion size and freshness (of everything, veggies, meat, rice) you will not find better in central Illinois.
Came to eat before a concert at Krannert. We ordered a variety of dishes (7 in our party) and every one of them was delicious and served so fast! Sushi was ordered and it was very fresh and tasty. The Spicy Korean Chicken was served on white rice - the chicken was very hot. Lips started tingling after about 4 bites and drinks were chugged by the end. I ordered the shrimp curry which involved coconut milk and although it tasted great the coconut milk cut the curry and made it very mild instead of what I'm used to tasting with a curry. Not bad, just unexpected. The restaurant was very clean and modern - very informal and the booths and seating area was very streamlined and clean. The food came so quickly and we ate leisurely but still ended up getting done in about 35-40 minutes. So if you're killing time to go to Krannert, this place is going to be faster to get through than you'd think.
There's a reason other Chinese fast food outlets are expanding in town, while Hot Wok isn't: The food. It tends toward greasy and sugary. It's also inconsistent: one day the hot & sour soup is fine, the next it tastes watered down. I've repeatedly asked for brown rice, but they refuse to offer it, saying it's too expensive, etc. Baloney. If they can make shrimp fried rice, they can make plain brown rice. Finally, they offer no non-carb side option (as Panda does). So I typically end up throwing away half the lunch because I can't eat 2 pounds of noodles or rice. Some plain steamed veggies instead, please! I'm eager for the new competitor to open down the street so I can start going there instead.

Rainbow Chinese Restaurant is a nice surprise. It is located in a non descript small strip center.Upon entering you will quickly notice how clean the lobby and the dining room are maintained. Not the usual experience here the carpet is clean, tables well cleaned and the dining room is tastefully decorated with charming Chinese art and figurines. Not at all what you can experience at other locations.Till 2:30 the lunch special includes your choice of soup, choice of rice and a spring roll. Had the Princess Chicken which is well prepared and spicy. The veggies are all fresh. The lunch specials are less than $7 unless you prefer shrimp. The menu is well planned and arranged for better ordering. The servers are nice, friendly and attentive. We highly recommend this as a choice.

Nice Thai place in Urbana, one of the better ones we have been to anywhere. Decor is not great, but outside seating available weather permitting. We had several Vegans in our group and had the Mock Duck Basil (Excellent, could not even tell it was not meat!), Veggie Supreme with Tofu and Mussamun Curry with Tofu all were excellent and abundant. For dessert the Sticky Rice with Mango was very good. Prices are moderate. Excellent experience.

We love food halls in big Asian cities but Urbana IL ain't neither Bangkok, KL nor Singapore. Many issues distract from an otherwise promising concept: Poor, unappealing lighting, bad (or turned down?) kitchen exhaust (Your clothes will smell, for sure), uncomfortable seating, mediocre food (Diner-level, Diner-priced: Frozen fries, frozen patties, Mexican choices poor and overcooked. One stall was closed) We visited on a Friday night and they ran out of beer? What? Come on, get serious! Come 2019 they will be OOB. Sorry.

Some Chinese restaurants are so Americanized, it feels like their claims to Asian cuisine are meant to be taken ironically. But that's not the case at Golden Harbor. Everything about the restaurant, from the décor to the food found on the hand-written men
Don't expect to be served. You write down your order, take it to the counter, get your own drinks and silverware. They bring you the food. Food was ok, have had better. Portions are large, but pricey for the lack of service. Food was hot and fresh, but under seasoned. Also, atmosphere was lacking and slightly run down.

Great Korean BBQ place! Located in downtown Urbana with traditional table grills for an authentic Korean experience. There are different options for marinated meats to be cooked on the table to your own taste; the pancakes are also very excellent. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful and can guide and help your selections if you are not familiar with the menu. Recommended!

My first visit to Ko Fusion and it was amazing! The customer service was outstanding as was the food. We had the flaming Phoenix which was super cool but also tasted amazing! Try and go on Sundayâs or Mondayâs when they have the dollar sushi and you can try several different rolls for cheaper. Great way to try different ones you might not normally buy. Canât wait to go back when it gets warmer and sit outside!

Sakanaya highly values our customersâ memories made around our dining tables. Sakanaya has been the first restaurant to go to for authentic Japanese food on Green St, Champaign since it's grand opening in November 2013. â The name âSakanayaâ translates to
My wife and I love to eat at Sakanaya whenever we are in the mood for sushi or sashimi in Campustown. The presentation is always artistic and the fish fresh. Waitstaff isattentive. A good selection of Saki varieties (both cold and hot) is available for those cold winter days.
