Top quality food served with unpretentious professionalism. Awkward location.We went for the â¬59 menu and loved it. Amuse bouche, scallops cooked to perfection, served on a lovely butternut squash sauce, bream with the freshest vegetables imaginable, lamb en croute perfectly cooked including for one in our party who wanted it very very well done, a imaginative choice of cheeses, and good (sadly not brilliant) dessert.Service was very friendly and very efficient, not overpowering, no wine waiters, just two young lads managing to deal with the whole dining room. Timing between courses was perfectly judged.The dining room is typical French chalet style, tables pleasantly well spaced, if perhaps a touch on the small size; the four of us were banging elbows.All in all very enjoyable, although luckily we'd consumed enough alcohol to be able to laugh off the front desk staff challenging us on whether we had paid. Surely the dining room and front desk must have a better system in place rather than asking their guests?

Not much choice of good food in chamonix so I tried here at 2ish for a snack but little choice and quite expensive I thought for self service snacks.Looked at menus and left after a coffee that was â¬4 for a paper cup, rubbish.Dear Cardiffelvis,Thanks for your feedback but it might be a mistake, i'm sorry. Although they claim to be open all day, they are not serving food from 14:45 till 19:00. So be careful.Bonjour Monsieur,Je suis désolée mais vous êtes arrivés à 15h45 et non à 14h45. Nous avons deux services le midi : un à 12h15/12h30 et un à 14h15... This is a magical slice out of a fairytale and my favourite place so far in the world!!! Everything is perfect, the personalised service, the small, delicate additions and touches that make it beautiful and precious. My now husband proposed here and I can't think of a lovelier place to say yes. Philippe himself is also very nice and has takes years to put together a little corner of perfection in the world. I can't wait to go back (once I save enough!). :-)

This small cafe provided a lunch break on a snowy day in March. A difficult manoeuvre upstairs with low ceiling provided the location for lunch. Pizza and crepes were good and some crayons and paper were provided for the toddler while we waited. In summary good food for a reasonable price but it was a squeeze.

We chose this place as it was billed as a tapas bar though it offered other choices including the typical 3 course "menu" typical in French restaurants. Food was good especially the meat and cheese plate we started with. I had a veal entrée that was OK, but had not been trimmed well. We had a clearly junior waitress who struggled to get our order correct, but a woman who seemed to be an order checked with us frequently to make sure we had what we needed.

Best meal of our trip to Chamonix! Very friendly staff who spoke good english. Concise menu and all the food we ordered was outstanding quality, would especially the fillet steak with mushroom sauceThe pichet of local wine is also definitely worth a try!

you must want to eat cheese. other than that it was great, nice atmosphere and really good food but it's a small place and it's quite out of the way, so book ahead.

My wife and I called in for a light breakfast during our stay in Argentiere last week. We had coffees and pastries which were very good. Situated in a great location in the centre of the village opposite the church, it has a pleasant ambience, comfortable interior, an innovative and healthy food menu and we found the owner/staff member to be friendly and helpful. In a village where the number of eating establishments is fast declining this pleasant cafe is a welcome addition although it has been operating since 2014. Recommended.Thank you very much!

Make sure you book, as several parties had to be told to come back later. Quite cozy and down to earth. Decor a bit spartan and functional. Very comprehensive menu with a good selection of ânon localâ dishes. Good wine selection. The salads were very large and very good. Lamb chops were cooked exactly as requested, served with delicious home made chips (cross between wedges and crisps). The profiteroles were fantastic. Overall very good value for money.
