The Borough of Chaguanas is the largest borough (83,516 at the 2011 census) and fastest-growing town in Trinidad and Tobago. Located in west-central Trinidad, south of Port of Spain, north of Couva and San Fernando, named after the indigenous tribe who originally settled there, it grew in size due to its proximity to the Woodford Lodge sugar refinery. It remained a minor town until the 1980s when it began to grow rapidly as it drew people for its bargain shopping and moderately-priced housing. However, its rapid growth has seen property values increase dramatically.

As usual, the ambiance of this restaurant is 20/100 for an Asian or Indian themed restaurant.
Some of the items ordered on the menu were a bit disappointing taking into consideration the price of the food here.
The aloo paratha tasted more West Indian than authentic Indian. A few bucks is added on to the pepper aloo paratha to add a few slices of raw hot pepper which again tasted more West Indian than authentic Indian.
The Indian Marsala chai was on point and great. The dhal makhani and biryani were excellent choices with authentic spices.
After visiting this restaurant on many occasions, I have to point out that the service here is excellent and consistent. The owner is always present and a great host who personally checks on customers who are dining.
I hope that they improve some of their dishes so that customers get the authentic Indian taste that the prices of their food calls for.

I visited the Prize Plaza Branch in Chaguanas, and I was not impressed. The Seating outside while comfortable is not environmentally friendly because there is a nearby ditch that carries a very pungent scent, as well as if it rains there isn't much coverage. Inside is average sized, the food is good but the service is not very timely, in terms of the drinks, the bartenders may need some more experience. But for a place to just chill it would work.

I have been to Mr. Rango a few times already. I always love the vibes and the ambience. Drinks are great. The servers are friendly and warm. The food though is a little too bland. Ordered the shrimp taco and the shrimp was just boiled n put into some stale taco shells with kernel corn. No seasonings, no flavor. Tofu sizzling plate was okay. It has veggies and wedges which were nice and charred. The tofu was soaking in a liquid and had no seasoning. However, I love that they have lots of veggie options. Appetizer portions are way too big. If you don't come with a party load of people, you cant order an appetizer.

Really good prices for the wide selection of seafood chicken pork and beef dishes all replaced and topped up regularly. Hot spicy and delicious. Great amount of desserts The ambience is dated and the staff are sometimes inattentive but it's a buffet and the prices are great for what you get. You actually get a discount on your birthday so walk with ID
Decent parking in a safe area.

I have eaten from a host of restaurants in Trinidad, other than the most spectacular ambience at Chagaramas' Sails, Rangos in Price plaza is exceptionally good.
I had Margarita Chicken dish with mashed potatoes and vegetables, Teriyaki salmon(off the menu but you can still get it) with same sides and Mexican rice and the best beef burger in TT.....yes the big mouth with mushrooms. Mash Potatoes are really creamy.
I would recommend any tourist, or just local who wants to eat something worth the money...please go there and try any of the 3. Also their orange juice, is fresh....alot of fancier restaurants have trash juices, dont wanna bash anyone, but trust me when I say never order a juice unless its at Rangos..... btw I didnt get paid to write this....I absolutely just love the food.
The only thing you need to pay attention to.... is service charge that actually comes with the bill and when you are cashing they ask (optional) if you want to give service charge which I think is already on your bill....... That's why I gave 4 instead of a 5 ;)

This is a review of the takeaway section --------------------------
I attended a training seminar at this restaurant about 3 months ago, then went for dinner shortly thereafter and the food in the restaurant was great! Tonight I was returning from a meeting in Chaguanas and my wife asked me to get some chinese. So I added an additional half hour to my journey to detour to Kampo Vibes for takeaway dinner.
I realized that the takeaway food at this establishment is totally different from that in the restaurant. The lemon fish texture was really soft and mushy and covered in excess batter - it was tilapia!!! I ordered lemon batter fried fish with jasmine rice and chinese vegetables. Upon reaching home and tasting the food I had to throw everything in the BIN!! This food is terrible and I wont be visiting here anytime soon.

How unfortunate that a Restaurant chain as big as this one does not see the value in catering for vegetarian customers. Appetizers for vegetarians- mozzarella sticks, or bruschetta.
Entrees for vegetarians? The menu listed - Sedona black bean burger...but they make it with EGGS; and Romanesco pasta...but they make it with CHICKEN STOCK!! TWO OPTIONS, AND NEITHER OF THEM VEGETARIAN.
So what were the real options? Fries, mashed potato, corn, steamed veggies.
I think this is unacceptable. And I will definitely not be returning to this chain.

This place is a hidden gem far far different to the take out front shop. The decor is beautifully elegant and intimate.
The booths are discretely separate. The tableware and table-settings are delightful The choices are delectable with a delicious mix of Thai and Indian. Prices are a bit higher than expected. Portions are not very larger but oh !! It was totally delectable and sumptuous. The paneer dishes with naan are just mouth watering
I whole heartedly recommend for special and any occasion frankly.

Dined here sometime last month. Restaurant is well maintained. Staff are polite and helpful. Food was not piping hot when served, which is usually expected at a dine-in restaurant. The food is very overpriced and staff do not come to the table often to see if everything is fine.
