We have stayed at the Locanda a few times now and we have found it o be very good. The rooms are just excellent, so too is the location ! The staff, ie the two ladies that meet us and greet us on reception and in fact also clean the rooms are very nice and helpful indeed ! If there was one point I would make, is that the breakfast could be better with a little more choice and variety.

3 farmhouses , The Pornelleto has rooms double, triple and quadruple rooms and is able to accommodate up to 30 guests . The structure then allows it to be divided into apartments of various sizes , all independent and with a fireplace , for extra comfort during your vacation in Tuscany . The farm also has a restaurant , a lounge of 120 m² , and a large gazebo where you can have parties , barbecues and grills. The guests can also relax in the swimming pool during the summer , play table tennis in the park equipped and fenced children's play or just enjoy relaxing in various gardens , among olive groves or vineyards . The true lovers of nature , however, will not miss a walk in the forest of 17 hectares at their disposal.
Located just 3 km from Cetona town Il Pornelleto is just over the motorway in the countryside. Really rustic, it offers different size apartments. We stayed in the main building where we basically had the entire place to ourselves. Sylvie's hospitality is fantastic and she allowed us to have access to the huge dining/living area, the kitchen and light the fireplace. We all felt like being at home. 1km down the road on the property is the restaurant where we enjoyed a lovely, varied breakfast and one evening we had dinner. Sylvie prepares a 3 course meal incl. Wine for only €20 per person. The menu varies daily based on what fresh local produces she is able to get. Recommend this place for its location and hospitality.

The beautiful 13th-century stone farmhouse is set on a knoll just 2km from the picturesque medieval hilltown of Cetona (one of “the most beautiful villages of Italy”). Pencil-thin Italian cypress punctuate the vistas surrounding the farmhouse, with views of olive groves, grapevines, and fields, as well as Cetona itself lying on the next hill. Ourr home as a charming and very comfortable 2-bedroom apartment with private entrance. You can rent either one bedroom or both, but in either case you have access to the apartment’s cozy kitchenette and spacious dining room. The apartment has a gentle beauty; time has worked its magic to give a warm patina to the terracotta floors, wood doors and shutters with their original hardware, high timbered ceilings, and large stone fireplace in the dining room. Lovely antiques and country furniture add to the charm. The two en-suite bathrooms are modern and attractive. For breakfast, the kitchen was stocked with coffee, milk, eggs, bread, and fruit. Cetona itself is well worth an extended visit – off the beaten track but with a lovely warren of narrow cobblestone streets and staircases that wind through the little town. Cetona is well located for visiting other interesting hilltowns such as Val d'Orcia, Montepulciano, Pienza, Orvieto, Citta della Pieve, Panicale, Cortona, Montalcino and more.
We cannot praise this lovely small agriturismo highly enough, one of the highlights of three of our trips to Italy (in 2014, 2016, and 2019). Stefano and Eleonora have dedicated the second floor of their lovely old farmhouse to accommodating guests in a charming 2-bedroom apartment, warmly furnished with antique furniture that lend a cozy “old world” atmosphere. The bathrooms are modern and the entire apartment is immaculately clean. The house sits on a small plateau which provides a stunning view of nearby Cetona which is just a 5-minute drive away – or a longer walk via a most pleasant meandering path through farms and woodlands. Cetona is listed as one of “the most beautiful villages in Italy” and it is a pleasure just to wander around the town, following the winding stone passageways that climb up and around the hilltop. It also has two excellent restaurants – Il Merlo and Da Nilo – which we have enjoyed on several occasions, as well as a friendly cafe/bar that serves delicious cappuccinos and pastry. Cetona makes an excellent base for visiting a number of other beautiful hill towns that are within an hour’s drive – some of our favorites have included Montepulciano, Pienza, Panicale, Orvieto, and Pitigliano. Stefano and Eleonora are warm and welcoming, as are their very friendly cats. When we arrived on our first visit, we were charmed by the sight of a row of four lawn chairs, each with a kitty comfortably ensconced and delighting in the afternoon sun. If possible, we recommend taking advantage of the opportunity to have Stefano and Eleanora make you a traditional Tuscan farm dinner – they are both skilled cooks and interesting dinner companions. Our first stay happened to coincide with Bob’s birthday, and Stefano and Eleanora noticed that from his passport and turned our dinner into a very sweet celebration of his birthday. The cozy stone annex room where we ate with them was very charming, lit by candles, with a stone archway entrance from the garden; the whole ambience of warm yellow light illuminating the farmhouse was incredibly romantic. In our 7 trips to Italy, we have stayed at other agriturismos, with other kind hosts, and enjoyed them all, but from the start we felt a personal connection with Stefano and Eleonora that made our stays here extra special. In short, we highly recommend a stay at the Agriturismo Il Caio, for as long as you can manage – we certainly plan to keep coming back as often as we can!

“Palazzo Bello” and “Chieteno” are two completely restored farmhouses, situated in a splendid panoramic position, in the middle of the country-side, but only 4 km away from the nice medieval centre of Cetona. The villas are located in a 180 hectar farm, less than 1 km distant one from the other, eachone with exclusive use of its own garden and pool. Thanks to the geographic location, the properties offer an enchanting immersion in nature and an extremely relaxing holiday, but they can also be the ideal start to visit the most important historical and artistic cities and towns of the area (Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino,Siena, Cortona, Arezzo, Orvieto, Perugia). From the properties it will take only a little bit more than one hour to reach Florence and Rome.
This is our second visit to Agriturismo Chieteno and we were equally as blown away the second time by its beauty and surroundings. Perched in its own secluded peaceful paradise, but also only a short drive away from any amenities you may need. It’s rustic charm is sure to be loved by anyone that visits. The views are sensational and the rooms comfortable and well equipped. We will be back in July for a large family holiday and wedding and we cannot wait to show everyone this little slice of heaven!

We stayed here on the 10th Sept, a lovely place to stay. Dinner in the adjoining restaurant was very nice, friendly couldn't fault them. The B & B was clean, quiet, comfortable, cosy. Good choice for breakfast. The owners/staff were very accommodating and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay here and would have liked to stay longer, it was just like you were part of their family. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Our ancient country house is very carefully restored, in order to maintain the atmosphere of un old tuscan stone house. The floors are in handmade terracotta tiles, ceiling and roofs in chestnut wood and the furniture is in ancient local stile. If you want to do a wonderful vacation in a quiet setting, relaxing on the swimming pool and enjoy our excellent kitchen, you are well come in our house. The "Podere" is embedded in un outstanding landscape all around, in un position immediately over the wine yards. Here in Cetona the natural landscape is carefully protected by strict building ordinances, which prohibits modern constructions, therefore in Cetona landscape and surroundings are completely intact. The house is situated in a distance of 7km of the village of Cetona, in a very unic position on the slopes of Mount Cetona (1184) In 2005 Cetona received the award "Bandiera Arancione", the orange flag, that means, Cetona belongs to the 100 most beautiful places of Italy. The village Cetona and it's castle, the ancient houses and the villas are nestled between the marvelous greenery of cypresses, pines, olive trees and vineyards. environment and landscape is here carefully protected. here you can find the porcupine, the hare, the pheasant, the wild boar and with a little luck you can see also the roe bock.
Beautiful place, in the mid le of tuscany with its type la lands cape. The owners are extremely friendly, they speak Italian, English, German and French and they made us feel at home in no time. I highly recommend having dinner with them and other guests, wonderful family style cuisine outside on the patio with a glass of nice local wine. Breakfast is another feast every morning! Bravo, well done!
