This corner café restaurant is barely 5 minutes' walk from L'Hotel Capricorne and has a much wider choice than Capricorne's fairly run-of-the-mill largely meat dish Brasserie. Scala has a lot of artistic touches to the décor including framed ?genuine ?repro advertising handbills for operatic productions. Quite quick service. Pizza and pasta dominate the menu, naturally; but there are some slightly more adventurous ideas you might like to try. My duck lasagne was a bit bland looking but tasted very nice. My wife's Ortaggio veggie pizza looked better and was good. Later on, an adequate range of desserts is on the menu; and they do indicate if these are made on the premises (fabriqué maison). Was disappointed on the night that the credit card payment machine was acting up so had to spend more than we had planned of our not over-generous Euro notes reserves. Not a particularly special meal, but it was a long way above bad/ terrible.

Marie and Marc welcome you with a french traditional cuisine done with the fresh products of the moment. The restaurant is located in a rural setting, 5 minutes from downtown vendôme.
Find this restaurant down a lane in St Ouen which is just outside Vendome. The food is really lovely, beautifully cooked and the cheese board is superb - my favourite cheese being one that the chef has invented himself. The portions are very generous so make sure that you are hungry. At the end of the meal the chef comes round to each table and talks to everyone. He and his wife have created something really special here.

One of the best meals we've had anywhere. Everything was delicious and well prepared, with a unique, personal style. You choose a meal of 3 or 5 courses and everyone has the same meal. They ask about allergies, so no worry on that score. The place is small, but not at all crowded even when full. They explain each dish. A great dining experience.

Great food and very good service and value for money. Went there with children and we were treated really well. Nothing was too much effort. Good menu and good price. Will go again.
Vendome Food Guide: 10 Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Vendome

Vendome is a picturesque town 5 hours from Calais. In town are your typical restaurants catering for the herds of tourists passing through, serving average food. Approximately a 10 minute walk from the centre of town is the Restaurant Le Paris. It is a fine dining restaurant, so don't expect huge portions. There is a little room for improvement, but overall it has good quality food, with good service. The restaurant is modern, but there is a need to create an ambience. I would recommend Gambas a la plancha.....delicious prawns with rice.

Lovely spot - we were outside overlooking the river. Very welcoming staff and efficient and friendly service. The food was excellent. We both had fish dishes - delicious. Very busy and popular so booked in advance.

Last nigt we received a Very friendly welcome from owner (wife). Explained all the ingredients for each of the 3 meals in each section (starter, main, dessert). Both hubby and I chose the soup, then beef but different desserts. I would of liked a little more in portions of the soup and vegetables accompanying the meat. The size of the meat was more than adequate for me. For 2 we paid 70 euros. Its a tad expensive but maybe thats the price for good quality home cooked food. We defiantly recommend, and WILL return, again as a couple and not with the kids. They wouldn't appreciate the food and prefer to stay at home with a kebab like last night :) . For those who dont know Vendome, its in the town centre with plenty of free parking spaces in the evening. However for lunch you'll need a disk as its in the blue parking area. Be Careful not to go if on market day as parking impossible.
