What a great choice of menus, we were really happy with all the food that came on our plate. We ordered the Gazpacho, and fish in mains, both were extremely delicious. We were also served an amuse - bouche of grilled tomatoes stuffed, which was a perfect starter to a good meal. We arrived late, when only a few locals were still dining, a reservation is recommended. They have table seatings inside and outside as well, and a great wine selection. The desserts in the menu were great as well. It was worth the trip from Montrichard, as that's where we were staying.

Quite a unique, rather quaint restaurant with a cozy interior and a very nice team. The menu includes salads, 'planches' (oven-baked white bread with pizza-type topping) and crêpes. Everything is very tasty and the service excellent! Make sure you book a table, especially if you're more than 2 - the restaurant is really very small.

This lovely bar and restaurant has an excellent location, having a terrace looking over Blois. If you choose to sit inside however you have the joy of watching the owner freshly prepare your meal in front of you.Good home cooked regional food and a very welcoming atmosphere from the husband and wife owners who are you hosts.A typically French gem.

Found this delightful restaurant through TripAdvisor and had a great dining experience, helped enormously by the owner who explained the menu, took our order and joked with us most of the evening. He was very tolerant of my terrible French, but choosing a decent bottle of red wine seemed to make him my friend for ever. The atmosphere was great. We only had a main course because we were suffering from a week of over indulgence in French restaurants, but what great dishes they were. My chicken from the specials board, served with morel mushrooms and shrimps was extraordinarily intensely flavoured. My wife ordered the T-bone veal steak, which was enormous and very tasty, Both dishes were accompanied by well cooked jacket potatoes with sour cream. The wine was of course excellent, or at least the owner said it was! Seriously, they have a limited wine list but it looks good quality and is reasonably priced, considering that this is a tourist town. We sat outside on the pavement, but there is plenty of seating inside and under umbrellas at the back. It's a back street location, but not that far from the main square and the shopping area. It's very well worth while making the effort to find it. Although it wasn't full the night we ate there, it had been the evening before so it would be wise to make a reservation.

We were initially impressed by the skill and aplomb with which the sommelier poured a bottle of crémant - our aperitif - into 9 glasses, giving each of us exactly the same amount. We were also impressed by the good value and quality of the set menu we chose, and the wines from an excellent wine list. Nice atmosphere. Relaxed dining.

We had booked online but, on arriving on the evening of 6th August, they had no trace of our booking and the restaurant was very busy. Nevertheless, they were extremely apologetic and insisted that they would find us a table, which they did. The patron, Sylvain, was friendly and chatty with us, and seemed to appreciate our efforts to communicate in French!Although busy, the service was good, the food well cooked and tasty and the bill very reasonable. Sylvain made time to talk and joke with all his customers and encouraged people at different tables to join in and talk to each other. Dinner at La Grolle was the highlight of our stay in Blois and we will certainly rerun if we're ever back,in the city.

Absolutely delicious food, in a lovely setting. This restaurant is out in the country - itâs so pretty & everything is created with love. It was a bit of a drive, but so worth it.We went with our dog, who was welcome. The food was imaginative, delicate & scrumptious! Every plate was a treat. My vegetarian menu was creative, local, seasonal & gorgeous. The deserts were sensational! Yes, itâs a little more expensive than some street bistros, but itâs not trying to match/beat that market - you get what you pay for, & itâs REALLY worth it! Itâs fine dining, but not in a boring, stuffy, self-important way.Loved this place so much, & we have been recommending it to all the travellers we have met!

He is French and she is Japanese. What an utterly perfect marriage of tastes and textures! Light and sublime yet bursting with flavour, all the dishes were just amazing. And the price is incredible value for such good quality. A definite must if you happen to be in Blois or in the surrounding areas.

La Maison d'A Cote is an hotel-restaurant situated on the village's place near the castle of Chambord. Christophe Hay and his team welcome you to enjoy fine french gastronomic cuisine around local products and wines. BE AWARE: Closing day ONLY WEDNESDAYS
I really can see what the fuss is about :-))I had the 7-course menu/set dinner and every dish was a gem (which tasted as good as it looked!) presented by the person who prepared it. There was an explanation of the ingredients--you can eat everything on the plate, including the lovely flower garnishes. Nearly all the vegetables came from a nearby garden next to the town church. Although I didn't opt for the wine pairing, I nevertheless had several glasses recommended by the very competent and hospitable maître d'hôtel Sebastian and his sommelier, including a very rare dessert wine made from the sauvignon blanc grape. It was also the first time I've had a pinot noir from Sancerre, something you're unlikely to find outside the region. What a treat! This was by far the best meal I've had in the Loire Valley since coming here 10 days ago (and I've tried some of the top-rated ones in towns such as Saumur, Amboise, Blois...), and it's only a 7-minute drive from Chambord castle. A big thank you to Christophe Hay for opening this wonderful restaurant. May it continue to delight for years to come! This is now my go-to place in Chambord.Dear TheHappyGourmand,Thank you for giving us your feedback about your recent meal in our restaurant. We are glad to read that La Maison d'à Côté is now your go-to place in Chambord! Your satisfaction is our best rewards. From all the team thanks again, we are looking forward to welcoming you soon and we wish you a nice day.Best regards,Laura AubrySales Manager
