The restaurant (which also is a hotel (Timila)) seems new. They have some tables outside (back yard), which is a nice way to have a meal away from the noise of Kathmandu/Patan. Food was decent. I had "Thai chicken skewer", which was minced chicken wrapped in betel leaves. Very tasty. Same for the desert (some brownie cake). The food seems to be a bit of a "fusion". Certainly a place to check out. It may be a bit hard to find, but it is actually only a few minutes walking from Patan Durbar Square (hard for cars to get there). Many thanks for this nice words. We do hope to see you again.

In this busy city, Salon de Kathmandu Cafe& Bistro is an oasis in peaceful and quiet enviroment with beutiful garden
This was a great find, from start to finish! Off the main road, very quiet and peaceful setting. The staff was extremely warm and friendly on the phone prior to our arrival and their wonderful service was appreciated! We had a lovely dinner. The highlight for me was the spicy chicken bowl and the gluten free brownie. One suggestion would be to add a few more selections to the wine list, which would have pleased my friends. All in all, a real jewel in Kathmandu!

Really friendly staff and exceptionally good value. We ate here twice in three days. Had one of the best veggie burgers (called cheese burger on the menue) I ever had! Simple yet so delicious. Food is fast and still really well cooked. We also had a perfect presnack in the form of pakouda (veggie-fritters). The burger was approximately 150 rupees. And the music was really good and peaceful, nepalese traditional. It definitely added to the experience.

We passed by and like the atmosphere in the cafe Mitra and decided to have dinner there the next day. However, due to some unforeseen circumstances, we went to the cafe almost at closing time. One of the staff is not tactful, and telling us in a not friendly manner that it is closing time.Trying to get us out. He could have said it in a better way.

Found this little cafe on the corner by accident while looking for a place to have my last dinner before my 10pm flight. The best nepali tea I've had so far! Staff are very helpful and answered all my questions! Tried the Yala special grilled chicken and it was delicious! Got tired of dal bhat from the trek so this really is worth it. Would totally recommend you to visit this place on the busy streets of Thamel.
