We had a truly amazing time at the Hatale Tea Estate bungalow. The property is almost like a museum with stunning antique furniture and a real glimpse into the way it would have been 150 years back. The service was impeccable. My father and I were the only guests there and we were totally looked after by Akram the manager who even took us himself to the Tea Factory to see it up and running. The facilities pool, and gardens are stunning. The chef is incredible and made us tasty fresh meals that we thoroughly enjoyed. I highly reccomend a visit to this place and look forward to returning some time soon.

We had originally booked 2 nights but left our previous accommodation early and were very pleased to be able to extend our stay to 3 nights. We were in Sri Lanka for a 2 week tour and our whole group of 8 thought Kumbukgaha Villa was the best place we stayed. The staff were super, so welcoming and friendly. We were staying over the New Year (in April) and arrived one morning to breakfast with an amazing buffet, candles and special blessings. The rooms are very special, beautiful decorations and a fabulous outdoor bathroom- showering with sweet smelling flowers and the sound of peacocks all around you is something we will all remember. The grounds are peaceful and the pool area is very clean with lots of fresh towels. We had a lovely menu to choose from and were very impressed with the quality and choice. We must mention the very cute puppy Shadow who all our kids loved! Kumbukgaha Villa is a very special place to stay, its beautiful, tranquil grounds will leave you feeling very relaxed and totally in love with Sri Lanka. Thank you Patti and all your team, we will definitely return. x

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sky Pavilion! The staff (especially Priyantha) were incredibly kind and went out of their way to make our experience in Kandy special - they had amazing recommendations for the local area - and also made our time at Sky Pavilion so memorable. All meals we had at Sky Pavilion were delicious, in particular, I highly recommend doing a candle lit dinner on the top floor balcony, we enjoyed dinner while watching the sun go down with stunning views as far as the eye can see. The rooms and common areas are lovely, our room even had little star lights built into the ceiling, which at night made it look like you’re staring into the starry night sky. Highly recommend!

My wife and I just returned from 2 glorious days at Warwick Gardens. The estate is nestled in a valley which over looks a small village who tender the tea plantation. The rooms are grand and the service and food wonderful. Very much looking forward to our next stay there with other family members and friends. Tip - take the Elle Odyssey train

Arrived in evening, so we didn't see everything - we asked for the pool and the manager said it is ok. went to the pool. next day we saw the pool -was really dirty, you couldn't see the ground or your feet in there. the manager said that he has no chemicals for the pool. because of that we didn't use the pool again and wanted to stay in the room. not possible, because it was to hot. we know about the problems with diesel/fuel and the powet cuts, but they have a generator. we asked for to activate it for using the AC but they said theres no fuel for that. In the evening they had fuel for everything. Room wasn't clean and they didn't cleaned it on the next day. On the second day we talked to the manager but they didn't do anything. It isn't how it look likes on the pics and for us there was no relaxing. For this priceclass this is not okay, also the marketing manager said this. They didn't give us money back, so we paid more than 430 dollars for two nights without pool (or deseases from the using?) and no AC. Manager was really unfriendly. Never again.

We had a great first two nights here from colombo to kandy. It’s a short tuk tuk into town to get to the shops / atm etc but it’s so peaceful and the pool was gorgeous and just what we needed after a long journey from the UK. The people working there are so lonely and attentive and very friendly. Would highly recommend!

We only stayed for one night but it was exactly what we wanted during our tour. We were on our feet all day looking around Kandy, and so although it was only a short distance in the car, we felt like we had escaped to a relaxing countryside hotel on the river. Lovely food and friendly staff.
