I recently found this little gem in the large city of Leiria. Down a small narrow street suddenly Olive pops up with an large open space out front. As you walk in the front door, the owner and chef stood present over a well decorated and illuminated bar to greet me. Laid back he welcomed me and started a conversation before welcoming me to my seat. The server provided me with suggestions for the night while also allowing me choose based on preferences. Appetizers where amazing! Presentation fit the atmosphere well. Modern but yet relaxed. Dinner was just as superb, and the chocolate mouse was one of kind. As a great lover for mouse, this was rich but had the perfect balance with the Creme and fruta. Well done José. Olive is a hit and definitely worth a visit if you are in Leiria.

I wasn't going to review this restaurant as I wanted to keep it secret. But the proprietors and staff deserve praise for this place. Was shown this little gem of a restaurant by friends. Visited for lunch. There is a restricted menu but what comes is amazing. A cover starter is provided, a glass of wine and then lunch. I had Dorada. It was a large portion and cooked fabulously. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Cant wait to get back here.

I almost don't want to post as this place is so lovely and already very popular I want to go back without loads more people there! We went for a late lunch as a family of 5. I would really recommend either reserving a table or coming outside of peak hours as it gets really, really busy. The speciality is chicken and it is FANTASIC! Really crispy well seasoned skin, succulent inside. We also had delicious grilled chourico and black pudding with lovely bread and pork ribs - all excellent!Staff deal well with the busy pace and are helpful and polite. The inside is funkily decorated and the customers when we were there was a mix of families and surfer dudes. The kids absolutely oved this place and so did we. Everyone left stuffed and happy!

Great place to enjoy a good meal and a cocktail in Leiria downtown
Our bar tender was amazing! Quick, kind and funny! Would recommend to all foodies who also love good cocktails and feeling that you found the trendiest place in town. We tasted some platters and shared tasty new dishes that we hadn't yet tried in Portugal!
