handmade burgers with surprising combinations, gins and Portuguese wines!
Artisanal burgers are here and with it, tons of people who don't understand anything about it are opening burger joints in every corner. Quality tends to be lacking everywhere with the exception of very few places. One of those is La Vara.La Vara is currently on my personal Top2 of burger joints in Coimbra (still not sure what's exactly the best due to the lack of more visits to La Vara). Service is average but everything you get on your burger is great. The room could be improved to feel more spacious and not have the feeling of packed up customers.Any burger I've tried is very good. Always ask for rare cooking.

Ingredients and quality products and carefully chosen to provide good sensations, with relaxed atmosphere and surrounded by good mood.
Very relaxed and luminous space, with witty decoration like repurposed apple boxes that serve as tables and bookcases. The burgers have light and elegant ingredients like guacamole, not very common i think, but very tasty. There's also the vegetarian burger with quinoa, which i never thought would be so yummy. The staff is very friendly, 5 stars.

A space where you can discover the true taste of "American Fast Food " surrounded by the golden atmosphere of the 50s!
This place is great to have a drink and take in the Americana decor. Truly cannot recommend anything from the menu, even the shakes are horrible. It's a shame because it's not very difficult to make good hamburgers and chicken wings!
