The restaurant has been open for a year and a half. It is on the corner of the street, below the Beira Rio, along from the Post Office.
We were looking for a late dinner and came across this place. The menu was interesting and the wine selection was good. We chose a starter, 1 main to share and a dessert since it was so late. The main was a Portuguese style fish and chips, we got to chose the type of fish. We went with breem and it was excellent. The whole fish was in an amazing sauce and served with a salad and some freshly made chips. It wasn't long before we were scooping the sauce up with the chips directly from the tray. We would definitely go back.

A couple of the higher ranked restaurants were fully booked. By ending up here we had a great time. The waiter spoke excellent English and recommended dishes from the menu. The quality of the food were very good and we had a delicious meal. The portions were generous, too. A really nice Dutch family on the neighbouring table also contributed to a memorable evening.

We were recommended this restaurant by a local - "basic but good" - and we were not disappointed. The menu is small and one or two things were not available, but the kitchen agreed to our suggestions to modify dishes and we were delighted with the quality of the food - not "basic" at all! Waiters friendly and knowledgeable, spoke reasonable English. Had a very happy lunch here, very ready to eat there again.

My husband, parents, and I stopped here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. We are not foodies, we just like to try local food at reasonable prices. Decor is simple and casual-elegant. Service was friendly, helpful, and prompt. Our server explained the dishes to us when we struggled with the menu. Beer was served in ice cold frosty glasses. Food was tasty and hot. We had seafood and the shrimp curry, and all four of us enjoyed our meals - decent portions and reasonable prices. Much better than what we ate at another recommended restaurant down the street the day before, which was twice the price and half the taste. We would go back again. Lovely little patio seating by the river, which would be great on a warmer day. Happy! For some reason the credit card machine would not read our Visa card, which we haven't had problems with anywhere else. So make sure you have cash as a backup just in case!

Although a bit disappointed, because they didn't have some of the specialities that we were looking for, the ones that they actually had were very good. Delicious deserts. I recommend the cabrito for main course and the tarte de requeijão for desert. With wine, 25 euros each, a bit high, but worth it! The service, although nice and professional, fail to help us choose the wine. Apart from that, pretty good!

We visited this restaurant because of the good reviews on Tripadvisor. What a disappointment! Service was very impersonal. We were halfway our starter when the main dish was seved. The vegetarian dish was really below standard. Within 45 minutes we were already outside. Not a place to be recomended.

In the center of Portugal, 4 km from Castelo de Bode Dam, the restaurant has panoramic balcony overlooking the river, rooms with fireplace, meeting area, summer garden, access to the lake. Natural environment. Private park. Traditional Portuguese food, es
We took some friends visiting from Germany to this restaurant. Our friends are gourmets and really know a lot of very upmarket restaurants world-wide. They were very taken with Sabor da Pedra. The food was excellent, the venue itself is fantastic with great views, wonderfully decorated. What impressed us most was the staff, obviously professionally trained and attentive to our needs. Great care was taken in explaining the dishes to us in English, although we speak Portuguese, but don´t know all the culinary expressions! And talk about value for money! All in all, we wholeheartedly recommend this place for a great meal while visiting the otherwise so underrated Centro de Portugal.

Very nice set up with all the candles. The waiters were really friendly and welcoming. Everyone spoke very good English. The frog legs were not easy to eat as the dough was thicker than the legs. The vegetarian dish was ok, funny and interesting taste, but a bit too dry. The knuckle of pork with cabbage was one of the best ever! We had a nice experience.
