Located in Sortelha, a ancient Portuguese village in the middle of nowhere, youâll find this cozy restaurant in an old building, divided in 3 floors.Friendly staff, lovely cuisine: try âArroz de lebreâ or any main course with âcabritoâ or even âborregoâ (lamb).Desserts are very good also. For me egg pudin is top!Before or after do a walk through the old village, along the small streets and big walls!

Positiv: location (great waterfalls, great decoration of the restaurante). Negativ: ratio quality very bad (we paid 20⬠per person, too expensive), cotfisch was only ok, meat nothing special, wine cellar nothing special.

We been recently in this restaurant by searching on a portuguese restaurant guide, and the surprise was great. We started by the local charcuterie, and other delicious starters they served as soon as we got to the table. After my wife had a grilled sea bass that was delicious and i had some lamb chops with garlic that were to die for.Had local wine recommended by the owner. He chose a delicious Douro that matched really well with the lamb.When passing by this unknown area of Portugal is worth a visit to this restaurant.

This restaurant is a complete pleasant surprise.After going in for the first time, only based on internet recommendations, we were kind hoping that the place was really that good and it completely is!From the way we were served, to the quality and presentation of all the dishes, this is a must visit to everyone passing by.

This restaurant is about 6 miles outside Belmonte. However, it had the highest rating of any restaurant in the area. When I got there I found out why. It is in an old stone building and has a public parking area out front with plenty of free parking. The man who seemed to be the owner fell all over himself to be friendly and helpful. I ordered roast pork and the piece he bought out almost covered the plate it was so large. It came with generous servings of rice, apple sauce and creamed spinach. For desert he recommended something he said was a favorite in that village. It turned out to be a generous serving of very good flan. The whole bill came to a very reasonable 21 Euros. And to top it all off, he took my credit card. It is a bit of a drive out there, but it was sure worth it. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Dinner for the 4 of us, we just went with the recommendation of our waitress, who is the owners daughter. 3 types of grilled meat: veal, beef, and thin cut pork that tastes like matambrito de cerdo from Argentina! Delicious food. Not expensive. House wine good, we felt quite happy supporting this local establishment, they treated us very well. It's small, so make reservations.
