Wow!! We went to the outdoor hot tub which was fab. We were there at night in a private out tub looking up to stars, drinking wine and water and eating cheese and crackers and chocolates. The surroundings are very well done with screens, plants and rocks, just lovely Well done to the owners

Wonderful. Exquisite. This place is just so beautiful. So quiet. So luxurious. The perfect night before starting the rail trail. Euan was the perfect host. And he is a wonderful cook presenting us with the most delicious breakfast. We are planning on being in the same area next year and will certainly be staying again.

Lovely welcome here and comfortable room. I sat out on the deck and wrote some postcards where I met the friendly cat- her name escapes me! (The dog was cute too but I am a cat girl...) Delicious dinner and nice atmosphere. Friendly genuine hosts. Got up to see the sunrise and had a great yarn with Saskia. Excellent hospitality.

Located in the historic heart of Clyde, Central Otago, The Lord Clyde offers sophisticated, luxury accommodation and fascinating history within its 120-year-old stone walls. Recently renovated, nine en-suited bedrooms blend elegant interiors with style and comfort. A freshly baked delicious breakfast awaits each morning. Enjoy a local wine in the private garden, overlooking the Clutha River, with the sun-baked hills of Central Otago in the distance. Or, in winter, relax by the fire in the invitingly warm and comfortable guest lounge.
We felt the stay was not great and also very expensive for what was delivered. Our room was nice but the sound proofing is non existent, which is very poor in such a recent renovation. The room next door to us had a bath. The couple staying in that room decided to have baths at about 10.30pm and we woken up by the noise of the water running through the pipes in the shared wall. We could even hear them getting in and out of the bath and we were kept awake until about midnight. The traffic noise outside then started very early the next morning, so we had a very poor night's sleep, We were totally underwhelmed by the so called cooked breakfast which consisted of a tiny egg baked with a bit of ham and accompanied by cheap supermarket bread. Very average coffee and cereal offerings at breakfast as well.

Our room was lovely and clean. There was a large and comfortable bed. The room was spacious. The hostess friendly. It is situated on a busy road but with windows closed we had a quiet night. There are eating places about a 10-20min walk away.

We love Garden Court Motel. Highlights include the well kept pretty gardens, friendly owners, extra details such as restaurant vouchers and great local advice, and in summer there is the pool for cooling off. Definitely recommend. Good hospitality, warm rooms, friendly management. What more could you ask for!

Had a 2 night stay here and our hosts were so accommodating. We had lovely rooms and the place was very clean and tidy. The level of attention was great and they made us feel very welcome and gave us plenty of advice and also tips on things do in the region. I loved the homely feel to the place, a God continental breakfast was provided each morning which started us off well. If you are staying in Clyde or doing the rail trail look up The Workshops. We will be back to stay for sure.

GREAT wee place to stay. Super welcoming owners, great setup, cosy and comfy. I felt truly valued and looked after, and absolutely would not hesitate to stay here again! As a single female, I especially appreciated that booking one room meant that the other room was not let for the night. I also really appreciated the thoughtful brekkie and the BEST shortbread (I love shortbread so it deserves a special mention!). Thank you for a great stay!!

We were doing a hike there and back to Ranfurly along the cycle track. After 14km return walking we were hungry and thirsty and so this gem of a pub didn’t disappoint. The owner was very helpful and we opted for a bar snack as it was almost 3pm. Their home made pies are huge and very tasty and went down well with a beer and bottle of wine for later. Its a bit off the beaten track but well worth the detour to spend a few hours or if doing the cycle trail…
