The central Norwegian area of Trondelag has its ideological capital in Trondheim, founded by Viking king Olaf Tryggvason in the 10th century and the seat of Norway's power until the 13th. Today, it's still the country's third-largest city, a university town with a rich culture. Trondelag's western offshore islands of Hitra and Froya are popular for outdoor adventures like camping, hiking, biking, snorkeling and scuba diving. They are also one of the world's best spots for deep sea fishing.

Kongsvold is a historical hotel with traditions from year 1100. Described in Rough guide as "one of the most charming places to stay in the whole of Norway" A reknown restaurant serves lunch and applecake from 12 to 16 and dinner every night at 19 o clock. Friendly atmosphere in the Dovrefjell mountains, easy to find along E6 and has also its own railway station.
Great hotel from where a great musk ox safari departs. Wonderful breakfast buffet of great quality and variety, kind and passionate staff. Many living rooms where it feels like seating with a book, admiring the surrounding craft-works and artworks. Beautiful natural setting.

The Nidaros Pilgrim's Centre/ Bed &Breakfast is situated in an idyllic location between the river Nidelva and the Nidaros Cathedral, only a few minutes walk from the city centre of Trondheim. All rooms have private bathrooms, with sheets and towels included. We offer free Wi-Fi.
This friendly and delightful cafe serves light snacks and pastries, and we visited it one afternoon. The indoor seating is charming and there is a pretty garden overlooking the river with outdoor seating. A little off the beaten track, but clearly a favourite with the locals and visitors alike. Not far from the cathedral and town centre. The iced cinnamon buns were delicious.

Our guesthouse has 7 double rooms with 2 shared bathrooms and 1 self contained apartment with kitchen and ensuite with a total of 22 beds. Solheim has a retro interior with unique vintage decor in all the rooms. Nostalgic, charming and with a homely feel. Breakfast is served as a buffet in the lounge down stairs in the summer season, during events and weekends, and we have a breakfast room for self serve during the weekdays in low season. We also host concerts, popquiz, courses and other events through the winter months. You can also bring the family or a group of friends and rent the whole house as a group. Please contact us direct for group enquiries.
A lovely retro homely place. Welcoming spotlessly clean comfortable centrally located quiet and we got the last room. Shared bathroom but not a problem at all. We would definitely come back. Great continental breakfast with hot eggs. Tea and biscuits very welcome.

Very nice and cozy place lighted-up by the Jon The Owner personality and good humor. Thanks to Venle for arranging efficiently and at a very short notice everything connected to our stay and my fishing. Meals can be improved some though.

I was on a motorbike-trip in the area and was tavelling between Oppdal and Røros when I was trying to find accommodation for the night. Luckily "Nordpå" came up on my hotel search, and even though it was a small (but exciting) detour from my destination Røros, I did not regret staying the night there. The place offer great scenery over the surrounding area. When I arrived, the manager greated me on the steps, ensuring me that it would be no problem having dinner, even though I was a bit late. I had the "burger" which was homemade (even the bun was baked on the place) and sampled some of the excellent beer made by the local brewery. Staff was friendly and attentive. If you are visiting the area, for example going to Røros, I would highly recommend spending a night at Nordpa.

Very friendly and caring staff, willing to put in the extra effort (even though they didn't have to, they were fully booked up weeks ahead, this being the Aqua Nor week). I felt really welcome :-) The only thing I wasn't so happy about was the bed - extremely narrow and rather soft so overall not very comfortable. Also, useful to know if travelling by bus from Trondheim to Fannrem: there are frequent bus connections and the hotel is only about 2 min walk from the bus stop in Fannrem - which is great - BUT, actually getting on the bus in Trondheim is very stressful, some drivers simply don't stop. Waving doesn't always do it - you almost have to step into the road to make sure they stop.

The hotel does not look good from the outside, but overlook that! Everything was perfect. Lovely people work there, every thing is beautiful and clean. The rooms were an okay size and the beds fantastic. The breakfast was very good. We had a great stay

Gjesteheim Havdal is a fantastic place for families with children, hikers and fishers in a beautiful nature, great starting point for walking, fishing and other activities.
Well, an old school are not the most romantic place if that what you look for, but as a sleep over with an good atmosphere and breakfast this can be more then recommended. They make you some dinner, I was hungry as hell and they did give me double and dessert. They are not a classic hotell, so they dont sell or serve Cola, chocolate or other things you normally find in a reception. This is more as stay at theres home as guest - and I can recommend it. Just note that the rooms not are classic hotel rooms but a classroom with 3-4 beds. Breakfast is superb. This is good value for money.
