Thessaloniki (Greek: Θεσσαλονίκη, Thessaloníki [θesaloˈnici] ( listen)), also familiarly known as Thessalonica or Salonica, is the second-largest city in Greece, with over 1 million inhabitants in its metropolitan area, and the capital of Macedonia, the administrative region of Central Macedonia and the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia and Thrace. Its nickname is η Συμπρωτεύουσα (Symprotévousa), literally "the co-capital", a reference to its historical status as the Συμβασιλεύουσα (Symvasilévousa) or "co-reigning" city of the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire, alongside Constantinople.

Koumparakia is a seafood resturant with mediterranean greek cuisine. An old family business in the center of Thessaloniki nearby one of the oldest christian church. kitchen open hours Tuesday Wednesday Thursday 12:00--21:00 Friday Saturday 12:00--24:00 Su
This is by far one of the best down-to-earth culinary experiences in Thessaloniki and one of the places I come back to visit regularly. Food that is made with love and, without trying to show-off, displays how simple dishes can make your taste buds happy. The menu has a wide variety of choices, long enough to puzzle your head when ordering, but narrow enough so that everything you try is going to be prepared to perfection. The stuffed vine leaves are amazing as well as the selection of the various greek cheeses, but that is just a couple of the variety of starters that will get your stomach going. Being a fish eater I would obviously suggest to ask Chris, the owner, to tell you what fresh fish he has for the day and just go for it! If you opt for meat then there is a good selection as well as traditional Greek vegetarian options (ladera) and some plates of the day (i.e. Cretan homemade pasta). The salads are fresh and well balanced. Overall the tasting experience is exceptional and there are nice choices for wines and spirits (raki, ouzo, tsipouro). The prices are great for the quality of the food and the service. Every time we visit they always go the extra-mile to please us. I definitely recommend visiting once. Then you will become a regular!

We visited with Greek friends for a big family dinner. The waiters were very efficient and friendly, the owner kept an eye on us the entire evening. What a gracious host! We loved the food, sharing many traditional Greek dishes and especially the special risotto and grilled cheeses. Yum! Everything was very tasty and though I was sure it was too much food, we managed to finish it allâ-so delicious! I would definitely recommend you try this restaurant!ÎÏ ÏαÏιÏÏοÏμε ÏÎ¿Î»Ï Î³Î¹Î± Ïην θεÏική ÏÎ±Ï ÎºÏιÏική και ελÏÎ¯Î¶Î¿Ï Î¼Îµ να ÏÎ±Ï Î¾Î±Î½Î±Î´Î¿Ïμε ÏÏνÏομα!

A family run restaurant, with happy owners: Andreas & Dumitra. Traditional dishes with local ingredients: cheese, vegetale, fish, olive etc. The bill? Only 120 euro for 6 hungry people, including the beverages. The desert was on the house. Best price/quality ratio one can get în Thessaloniki.

Modern alternative restaurant in the historical centre of thessaliniki (ladadika)
My friend and I had dinner here last night and it was fantastic. I started with grilled aubergine which melted in the mouth and my friend had cheese with honey and nuts which was not only beautifully presented but tasted great. I then had the grilled squid stuffed with cheese and herbs and I can honestly say it was the tastiest squid Iâve had. My friend had sausage souvlaki which was also v good. We had a reasonably priced bottle of Greek white wine which was perfect. The owner was really friendly and chatty gave us free lemon retsina. We were too full for desert! Would highly recommend. Great service and very reasonably priced - two courses and wine for 43â¬. ÎÏ ÏαÏιÏÏοÏμε θεÏμά για Ïην Ï ÏÎÏοÏα ÏÎ±Ï Î»Ïγια! Îα ÏαÏοÏμε να ÏÎ±Ï Î¾Î±Î½Î±Î´Î¿Ïμε!
