If you think about the word âcosyâ this place is it with capital letters. :) The owner is the most friendly and warmest person Iâve ever met, and the food was really authentic so delicious, I would say perfect. I reccomend it to everybody, even you go with your family or you want to spend a romantic time with your love. Great restaurant. Will be back soon.

My companion had never had them, though; so why not?, I thought. Can't go wrong with mussels, I thought. Why not... well, when the mussels are fresh, that's one thing. When they're those that are sold cooked, in their broth, awaiting only a shake of the seasoning tin and a mirepoix to be re-heated, that's another.Whichever they were (and I strongly suspect the latter), they were overheated / overcooked, shrunken, rubbery. I fed my companion one.Furcsa, she said of her mussel. Weird. I winced, and apologised, and and assured her that another time I would find her some mussels fit to eat.***Ambience, nice enough for a restaurant in a day-tripper tat-store aggregation (that's "tat" as in dustcatchers, as in tchotchkelek, as in not-made-here, as in yard-sale bounty; think buses of tourists emptying into outlet mall where every store sells crystals and aprons stencilled HUNGARY) masqueradiing as a boatmen's village turned artist colony. We missed Szentendre at its peak, I suppose -- should have checked it out before the First World War.Service, good if not cheery. Food, unhappily bad. (My companion praised her salad.) Price / value-for-money, painful. But clearly I ordered the wrong thing.Credit cards not accepted.Köszönjük a 3 pontot,öntÅl egy Michelin-Csillagot ér. Klément Ferenc

My wife and I are from New York City and have eaten Greek food at some of the best Greek restaurants there. We just had the best moussaka we've ever tasted...in Szentendre, Hungary! Our avocado salad, pits bread, and baba ghanoush were also amazing! The service was fantastic. We sat outside and it was beautiful. A must to visit if you get hungry in Szentendre!!
To answer tha question: because Szentendre has a long history with Southern Europe, going back to the time when the Turkish occupation of Hungary ended in the late 1690's. Serbian, Dalmatian and Greek settlers moved in and re-populated the area.Traditional Hungarian cooking is great, but when the temperature is in the high 20s C, you may want something lighter. The Mediterraininan meals are perfectly adjusted for the summer weather, with the light salads and the mix of various dips and meats. For a light lunch with friends (that is what we had there) this place offers the perfect combination of food, service and great outside seating next to a little creek. The owner of Restaurant Adria went back to Greece to learn authentic cooking, and he learned it well. The eggplant paste and the fried paprika was great, and the giant beans in a light tomato sauce was exceptionally good. We were there with small children, and everyone could find the perfect food in the great dish that was served to us.

The sheer setting of this delightful Greek Restaurant right on the Danube River alone is beautiful.Szentendre translated to English meaning St Andrews is a tourist must in what it offers. We are very familar with Greek cruise food style being from Melbourne in Australia and could not fault the service and quality of food at this delightful restaurant.Lunch, its quality added to the magnificence and joy that is Szentendre. This is our second visit and its close proximity by train from Budapest just 40 mins and the easy pleasant stroll from the railway station for young and old adds to the joys of visiting St Andrews. WE will return sooner than later.
