We loved the traditional Mayan Dinner. it was absolutely delicious!. the ingredients were all fresh and very well prepared. A nice Soup an OK salad of Jicama and orange. Could have been more interesting. Turkey and Pork Tacos on fresh Tortillas, really tasty , all ingredients were fresh and lovely. Dinner was really delicious! Portions were adequate and flavors were delicate. Service was great and the atmosphere was lovely. At $22 USD it was resort priced. Stiil Fair. After Dinner we took the the program on making Chocolate. $15USD. This was presented by a local Chocolate maker who did an excellent job of showing us how chocolate was made and we even got to do it our selves. The result was a rich chocolate drink the Mayans have enjoyed for thousands of years. This was a priceless insight to the process of chocolate making. We are very happy that our kitchen team was able to exceed your expectations. We are considered moderately priced as a resort. As a resort, we know we have an extra responsibility to assure food safety and something above just a tasty meal. The focus on farm-to-table, the organic gardens, advanced food safety training for our food and beverage manager, and even the garden tours all add up to a lot of value for a little more than what you can pay in a regular restaurant in town. Our guests often tell us that this is why they chose to stay at the Maya Mountain Lodge.

Awesome food with a nice Mexican fuzz to it. The best jalapeño poppers (stuffed jalapeños) I've ever had. Friendly staff and owner who checks on customers. A good view of the town and on clear days you can see villages 10 miles away.
