Enjoy the best of Belize - its people, its food, and its attractions at a world class resort.
Minus 1 star for mediocre onsite restaurant. Waitstaffs and open air restaurant vibe were excellent but food was bland and uninteresting. I had a dinner & 3 breakfasts there. I repeated the breakfast meals only because it was included, & I was able to pre-order the day before. Pre-ordering really help since it takes 30-45 minutes to get your food otherwise. We had ordered 3 steak and egg for the 1st breakfast and only the eggs were edible. All 3 steaks were chewy-rubbery and had almost a rancid taste. Needless to say, none of us ate the steaks after the first 2 bites. We stayed with the safer choice of oatmeal and the stuff fry jacks after that. Portions were generous but we wasted food because nothing was especially tasty. Minus the 2nd star because the property did not live up to its expensive rate with direct booking. I was charged $2731 USD for 3 nights & 2 casitas. The rooms were basic and did not look like the website pictures. One safe did not work & the 2nd safe ran out of battery the 2nd day, requiring me to wait in the room while handyman replace the batteries. There were tiny little white bugs around the counter above the mini-refrigerator. I did not put my items on counter space or touching walls to avoid transporting any unwanted passengers. I did not report the buggy issue since bugs are to be expected in a tropical clime and there were only about 5 dozen bugs scurrying about. The water pressure was low and tepid for the outdoor tub and shower. It was not relaxing to soak in a tub of lukewarm water while trying to commune with nature. Thank goodness the indoor shower only has the low pressure issue. Some of the pool loungers are stained & has rips with the stuffing visible. The pool was tiny and the water was cloudy, hopefully from over-chlorination and nothing else. Cleaning staff was awesome & the room was cleaned twice a day. I drove 5 min to the Rumor Resort next door and gave them a bag of 25 articles for washing at 2PM & requested a 6PM pickup. They were glad to do it for $10USD. I did not even enquired at Ka'ana since I had read in a review that the resort charges $3-5 USD per piece. This brings me to my next point. You need a car when staying at Ka'ana otherwise you are at their mercy regarding food and laundry. It is outside of San Ignacio. Luckily, it is very simple to drive in Belize. You only have a handful of highways that are 1 way in each direction, making navigation around the country simple. There are very few cars on the road since gas is about $6.5/G and minimum wage is $1.65/h. There are frequent speed humps so you can't race anywhere.Going above 10mph over the higher speed bumps will launch you with a rather jarring landing. Even driving on unpaved roads to the San Ignacio garden, to meet up with our guide at the ATM, or to the Coxcomb Jaguar Preserve were not problematic in the 4 wheel drive. I think a teen with a learner permit can handle these roads. I am not an adventurous driver & would not attempt to drive in Bangkok or would only reluctantly drive in NYC. Don't expect luxury at Ka'anna. It was a poor choice but Cha Creek was sold out when I booked 1 month in advance. Luckily, my 2 other bookings for San Pedro & Hopkins were less expensive but were 5/5.

We stayed here 3 nights with a party of 11 and it was great! The location is great for going to Tikkal and the ATM caves. They will set you up with great tour guides and arrange for pick-up and drop off. Our tours were great. The accommodation is clean and has such an adventurous appeal. Pool was small but perfect for a dip and relaxing. The restaurant was not open but we ate nearby at some great finds and it was so easy to navigate the town.

The place is more tired than it appears online. Cleanliness and upkeep are sloppy, e.g. the previous guests' used soap still in the shower and window screens that don't fit properly. The round huts are very warm, so you can't get away with not using the A/C, which is very loud. The location is good (quiet, on the edge of town but walking distance to restaurants) and the pool is very welcome. The safe in our cabana didn't work, and unfortunately when our penknife went missing, the hotel didn't acknowledge any fault in the fact we couldn't keep our valuables safely locked up.

We stayed in Rolson’s since they had good cancellation policy on Booking.com (which is important during the pandemic), had a restaurant on site, and reasonably priced. It is not fancy and we weren’t looking for a resort since we were out all day doing tours and activities. The owners and staff were super nice and accommodating. It is in a residential area and the dogs were barking a lot at night which was super annoying. Also, the Mountain View room that we were in had old AC that was loud. My husband had a hard time sleeping. They moved us to a quieter room in the newer building. I highly recommend getting the room in the new building since the decor is modern and the AC was new. We ate at the restaurant several times. The food was inconsistent and we learned that they had 3 different Chefs. There was one night that I ordered the pork chops and it was delicious. The other nights, it was very salty. We liked the Belizean Breakfast with Chicken Stew and Fry jacks. It was consistently very good.

A Family owned and operated facility for that personal touch that makes all the difference. We are a family who has lived in the Cayo area for three generations. Enjoy conversing with our guests about our background and exchanging stories about Belize.
Came by the pool after a long day of work to swim, even though we arrived a little late the bartender was very accommodating in ensuring themst we got something to eat and drink even though it was late. The pool was great and so were the food, drinks and customer service. I could not recommend the Log Cab Inn wheather it be for locals or Tourists more! Thank you!

Tucked away in a tranquil setting in San Ignacio's twin town, Santa Elena, you'll find The Drift Inn Cayo Hotel and The Aguada Restaurant, named for a watering hole used by the Ancient Maya, and on our grounds sits a watering hole. This idyllic setting is attractively landscaped with blooming trees, orchids, iguanas, over 63 species of birds, and a lovely array of foliage and flowering plants. Combined with a charming atmosphere, attractive hardwood interiors, an excellent restaurant and bar, swimming pool complete with a patio, and all located in the best valued hotel in Belize; The Aguada is hard to beat. This quiet getaway is a welcome change from the hectic pace of downtown San Ignacio. Women and family owned and operated, the most distinctive aspect is the family atmosphere... we'll make you feel instantly at home!
We enjoyed the stay, very clean, staff were friendly, loved the pond with the fishes and turtles. A nice little get away from the hustle and bustle in San Ignacio. Would definitely recommend. It was also easily accessible

The Cocopele Inn offers two suites for groups or families, and four spacious rooms for singles or couples. We are centrally located in Santa Elena just a few minutes away from downtown San Ignacio. Make us the "hub" for your exploration of Belize. The Cocopele Inn is located within easy travel of many Belizean destinations. William Belize Shuttle is based at the Cocopele Inn.
The room was excellent - every amenity one could need and impeccably clean, Yolanda was very helpful and charming, Lucy organized anything I needed and is a great resource. The location is quiet and easy to find. 10 Stars

The lodge is located in San Ignacio, on a hill overlooking the town. It's a five minute drive to the center; I'd estimate that walking would take around 25min but I would not recommend it because the road is quite steep and rather unremarkable. Our room was perfectly adequate; interestingly, it had a double shower (from two opposing ends), something that we'd never seen before and whose purpose we somehow didn't fully grasp... Yet the true highlight (for us) was the staff. Everyone at the hotel – from the manager to the gardeners – had nothing but smiles and jokes for us and did their utmost to make our stay great. If we were to return to San Ignacio, we'd book the Falling Leaves lodge again.

If you’re thinking of staying at Kiki Witz …DON’T!! My husband and i had the worst experience and left after only one night. We had booked for 6 nights. I’d love to go into everything that happened or didn’t happen but that would take too much writing. What I can tell you is that the staff is minimal, resort is near empty (I know why) and the management staff is downright rude and have no business being in the hospitality sector. As pretty as it looks, it’s a pretty pathetic resort!
