Cave Junction, incorporated in 1948, is a city in Josephine County, Oregon, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 1,883. Its motto is the "Gateway to the Oregon Caves", and the city got its name by virtue of its location at the junction of Redwood Highway (U.S. Route 199) and Caves Highway (Oregon Route 46). Cave Junction is located in the Illinois Valley, where, starting in the 1850s, the non-native economy depended on gold mining. After World War II, timber became the main source of income for residents. As timber income has since declined, Cave Junction is attempting to compensate with tourism and as a haven for retirees. Tourists visit the Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve, which includes the Oregon Caves Chateau, as well as the Out'n'About treehouse resort and the Great Cats World Park zoo.

Stopped many times. Lunch, snacks and at least one breakfast. Staff is always friendly, helpful and very professional. The staples for us are their burgers, blizzards and chicken strips!

I love Dutch, and this group of baristas was super-helpful, telling us what on their menu has the most nutrition, and even helping us find our attractions.

The Chateau has a dining room and a cafe. We were at the cafe, which is downstairs from the dining room. The cafe has a very long counter to sit at, no tables. We stopped by the cafe after our cave tour. We really enjoyed the fun 50s atmosphere. I don't normally order milkshakes with lunch, but knew I had to order one after seeing all of the flavors available. I ordered a blackberry shake and my husband ordered the coffee flavored shake. The young man that prepared our shakes must have been new at his job, he was given instructions and then received corrective instructions after we were served. I noticed that the shakes he made after ours were more dramatic in appearance, berries swirled along the inside edge of the glass (which mine didn't have). The two sandwiches we ordered were good.

We loved stopping in at Coffee Heaven on our way through Cave Junction! The coffee was great, the staff were lovely, but I want to take a moment to rave about their scones. I love scones but before Coffee Heaven, I'd had yet to find a truly fabulous scone at a cafe anywhere. I've had great scones, but not one that made me want to travel hundreds of miles back to a place just to get another. The scones of Coffee Heaven are truly fabulous and they are worth the special trip! Do it! Yum!

We needed a dinner restaurant in little Cave Junction and there aren’t a lot of options. We ended at the place in town that seemed the busiest.
Lots of waiters were rushing around and they don’t spend a lot of time at any table—sort of drive-by service.
I got a house Margarita and was disappointed. It was weak and watery and almost tasted like a mix. I can’t imagine that they would use a mix, but it certainly tasted like one.
The food was good, but nothing spectacular. My wife had the veggie stir-fry with some added chicken. There was absolutely no seasoning on the vegetables. I had a garlic shrimp dish. Fortunately, it had lots of garlic but the accompanying veggies were bland.
So, it was kind of hit-or-miss. I found no reason to go again.

My husband started going here for a slushy or whatever they're called and he keeps going back. I wanted to try one of their breakfast burritos and was so glad I did! The chorizo/egg/cheese burrito fed me for 3 mornings! Cute little place.

We are a family restaurant that makes fun pizza and great beer.
Being in the middle of nowhere and looking the part, it was very refreshing to be attended by a very courteous and cordial young man, being served very tasty and not too oily fish and chips, with a decent wine and a very good beer.
I would definitely go there again.

On US 199 at the NORTH entrance to Cave Junction; open early and late; good selection of coffe's and teas; advertises hot soups, etc., but rarely actually have any; wi-fi a definite must for the traveler or camper
