The English Rose Tea Room has been serving Afternoon Tea in Carefree for over 10 years. Try a scone with jam and cream or our much acclaimed 'Duchess of Bedford's Formal Afternoon Tea'. Better yet, sample one of our delicious salads or our homemade cottage pies. We import our cream from Devon and serve only the finest teas, with over 25 varieties to chose from on our menu.Open 7 days a week throughout the year, we look forward to seeing you! Call for summer hours.
This place has outgrown its space. Tables are on top of each other and it is very hard to even move in this place. The service was friendly, scones were good, and finger sandwiches were ok. Mostly a place for ladies who like to dress for the occasion with fancy hats and such. They do allow pets and crying babies so the atmosphere may not be as relaxing as you may have expected.

Not to be missed, this cozy little eatery serves up expertly prepared crepes. Several selections of savory as well as sweet varieties to choose from. A spotlessly clean and nicely decorated place. Calm and relaxing ambiance. Friendly and upbeat service. Order at the counter. The crepes are brought out to your table a short time later. Really good espresso beverages. Regular coffee is served in a very large mug.

The Grotto Café opened its doors November of 2011 and is a family owned business. We serve award winning locally roasted organic coffee from the Roastery of Cave Creek right here in town, fresh bagel & pastries along with breakfast & lunch. We also have a liquor license to complement our food and atmosphere. Here at the Grotto Café we have one of the largest outdoor patio areas in all of Cave Creek. We also have plenty of indoor seating to accommodate guests all year. We've built a reputation for being a local hot spot for locals and new guests of all ages. We take a tremendous amount of pride in what we do and would love the opportunity to serve you soon!
Oh boy, we really enjoyed our lunch here. Took me a minute to really find it, but worth getting lost over.
I had the bacon avocado sandwich and my husband enjoyed the Club sandwich. Very fresh and delicious. I also had a hot chai latte which was perfect since it was 56 degrees. The indoor/outdoor seating is amazing and the decor will keep you busy for hours. Very friendly wait staff.
Great place to bring out of town visitors or if you find yourself in Cave Creek.

Tonto Bar & Grill is built on a strong foundation that transcends most restaurants’ missions. Not only do we take great pride in our food, drinks and service – all of which are consistently outstanding – we also aim to preserve Arizona’s heritage through our cuisine and by sharing the stories of our property’s past. We fuse Southwestern and Native American ingredients and present them in a warm, welcoming atmosphere rich in Arizona lore. Banquet facilities, weddings and off-site catering available. The undulating grass area between the 11th hole of Rancho Mañana and the Sunset Patio is ideal for a romantic wedding reception. Views abound in every direction, showcasing the lush Sonoran desert and the southern rim of the Tonto National Forest. Picture yourself standing on the emerald green grass, which acts as a natural amphitheater and is framed by a massive eucalyptus tree, native mesquite trees and the Andora wash. Weddings of any size feel perfectly nestled in this natural setting of the historic Rancho Mañana Ranch. After your ceremony, you may stroll just a few steps to the 11th tee box for your picturesque reception under the desert sky.
We always celebrate the baseball season at Tonto's and always leave happily satisfied! The food is delicious and the setting makes you think you are eating in a restaurant right from a Zane Grey novel... The décor and setting are quite memorable!! The selection of entrees is wonderful!!!

Dairy Queen is fairly consistent from shop to shop. My wife enjoys the chocolate dipped cone. She says that the ice cream part is good but the chocolate covering is only fair at this particular DQ. The service is always good.

Staff was amazing..... golf courses also amazing if you can only play one day play the South course. The South course has much better views. Approximately $250 around of golf and staying there wasn't cheap either. The grounds are beautiful the restaurants are average to above average.

Cartwright’s Modern Cuisine honors the spirit of Arizona’s ranching days with rustic yet upscale dining. Located on Saguaro Hill and overlooking Black Mountain and the Sonoran desert foothills, the restaurant’s ambience inside is as captivating as the setting outside. At Cartwright’s Modern Cuisine, a hacienda style dining room, enclosed patio and private wine room boast artistic touches such as straw-packed walls, sandstone and slate accents, woodwork from local mesquite, and a wood-burning fireplace in each room. The interior recalls the original ranch house built by Jackson (Manford) Cartwright in the early 1900s. His father, “Red” Cartwright, was a pioneering cattle rancher in Cave Creek in the late 1800s. The family ranch operated for three generations and more than a century, and is still in use today. Chefs continue this tradition with all-natural meats, including Arizona beef, Colorado range-fed lamb, and North American elk and buffalo slow-cooked over a crackling mesquite wood fire. Also enjoy fresh seafood, house-made bread and desserts, a Wine Spectator Award-winning wine list and fine whiskies, bourbons and Scotches. Cartwright’s is available for private events and off-site catering. Reservations are recommended.
I've always enjoyed my experiences at Cartwright's, but the new ownership has made for an even better time. The menu has changed, with some lighter fare, and a lot of excellent fish dishes. The Happy Hour choices and prices are definitely worth a trip. Decor is the same, but the place seems lighter - I was always having to turn my phone flashlight on before. Service is consistently excellent, it was faultless on my last visit, even though the place was bustling and we needed to have tables moved so we could sit together. Food was elegantly and swiftly served. All was delicious and of the highest quality - Oysters, the mixed meats (huge!) Burger that came with wonderful fat steak fries, the bacon-wrapped dates. The cocktail menu and wine list looks lengthy, fun and reasonably priced for such classy restaurant. Overall I came away wanting to return again soon, I highly recommend this Cave Creek classic.

The service is friendly and efficient. The trout, squash soup, salads, and the Turkey sandwich are all delicious. This is my favorite restaurant in Carefree. It can be crowded so plan ahead.

Great spot for a lite breakfast. The banana bread is made in house and is excellent. The staff was friendly too and the chef was really nice.

We go to Bryan’s at least once a month and it’s always very good. Can get crowded and noisy inside, especially on a live music night, but the food is worth it and they have outdoor seating if you need to get away from the noise inside.
