We received the hint from the hotel concierge. We arrived for the sunset and the view was wonderful. The beautiful view (which was already making it worthwhile) was complemented by the wonderful meal we had. Italian tapas for starters, all fresh and delicious; a classic chianti to drink; and for the main course a ravioli with pecorino, sausage and trufle sauce (Just perfect), my husband had a filet accompanied by spinach and potato which was also perfect. In addition, Ariana provided us with an excellent service. In resume, a sensational evening. Worth the visit. The only thing we lacked was an extra day to go back and eat the pizza (present at all the other tables in the restaurant).

My husband and I are both vegetarian and were recommended this restaurant by our hotel because they will accommodate vegetarians. We had an excellent meal, one dish from the menu and another with substitutions to make it vegetarian. We thoroughly enjoyed both. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We were looking for an authentic place for paninis and wine and Gino Cacino did not disappoint. We were there the day before Palio but the wait wasn't long at all. The menu had tons of choices and the wine list was extensive. The best meat and cheese I had the entire time I was in Italy! Extremely authentic place, with very little english spoken, but does not take away from the experience at all, and instead, enhances it.

A beautiful dinner spent in this place between wine and food. You can express your preferences about the kind of cheese and ham you would like to have or you can leave this decision to the innkeeper (which we preferred). Everything was great! The entrance to this restaurant is easy to miss. Fortunately my husband and a friend, strolling down the street, noticed it. We had dinner there that night and it was excellent. Elegant setting, good service and delicious food. We liked La Compagnia dei Vinatteieri so much that we returned two nights later and were just as delighted the second time around.

We had lunch here - it was recommended by our B&B host and is just off the main street. Surprisingly good range of foods from panini, salads, pasta, bruschetta to various specials. This is the best wine bar in all of Siena, I have visited this place many times during my stay in the city. They have all natural wines and amazing knowledge of them that they are willing to share. Francesca and Davide that owns the place are amazing people that always make you feel welcome. Besides the good wine they also serve great cheese, meat and crostone - all from artisan producers. We returned to this hidden gem of a restaurant two years after our first visit wondering if it would measure up to our first experience. It didnât- it surpassed it! The ambience is beautiful, cozy and romantic. The owner/ server/ translator and music facilitator is engaging, welcoming and helpful with selecting food and wine( and translating the entire menu). And of course the food!! One course more delicious than the other. We had risotto served from a hollowed Romano cheese, followed by the wild boar pasta and the veal with peppercorns and fruit, accompanied by a delicious local wine. Sadly there was no room for desert but I am sure they too would be perfect. We ate at a Michelin star restaurant last night but opt to rerun to Enoteca Bengodi tonight for our last night in Tuscany. It is nothing short of wonderful.
