Last week, I have stayed with my family and friends (total of 4 adults + 6 children) for 1 day at this amazing B&B. Everything was just great !! Starting with the rooms, the beds, the showers, the location of the B&B, the restaurant that Fransesco (the owner) recommended for dinner. Without any doubt I give it a perfect "10" and a "100" for "value for money". The only complaint I have is for myself that I didn't have enough time to spent at the B&B as my flight took off from Roma early next morning. Fransesco - thank you so much !!! Nir

Villa Abbamer is a mansion built in 1910 by an Italian noble family. The Villa, completely restored, has a dining room, two lounges, music zone and a library. The 6 guest rooms (all different, in various types and sizes) are equipped with private bathroom, telephone, internet wi-fi, air conditioning, tv. In the wide park around the villa there are dining areas, outdoor parlors and private parking. Villa Abbamer is a country house that, in addition to providing hotel services, organizes in-house cultural events on literature, art, music, the sciences... Living at Villa Abbamer is like being at home. For over one hundred years this place has conjured up a dream of harmony. At Villa Abbamer, we welcome our guests with every kindness and consideration, offering total comfort. Our sole goal is to make your stay enjoyable. Located in the Municipality of Grottaferrata, within the Regional Park of the Castelli Romani, Villa Abbamer is only 15 km from Rome (5 minutes to the Frascati railway station – 30 minutes by train to Termini Station; 15 minutes from the Metro Line A) and 15 minutes from Ciampino Airport. Since ancient times, this area has attracted key figures from Roman and Italian history, many of whom built homes and villas here. Nearby you will find the abbey of San Nilo (1004 A.D.), the ruins of Tusculum, baroque villas of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries (Villa Aldobrandini, Villa Grazioli, Villa Mondragone, Villa D'Este, Villa Gregoriana, Villa Adriana). In the vicinity are other interesting towns, like Castel Gandolfo, Frascati, Ariccia, Albano and Tivoli.
I happened upon Villa Abbemar on TA while looking for a place to stay our last night in Italy. Needed something near airport FCO. I was a bit dubious as the price seemed too low but the photos said 'take a shot'. A bit hard to find up a narrow passage and adjacent to a larger hostelry, we got it right the second time. Buzz to have the gate opened. The grounds are lovely and very well kept. The building itself seems to be from maybe the 1920's and is gorgeously outfitted with 21st century functionality but maintaining its historical charm with museum-quality furniture and artwork throughout the public areas. The rooms and baths have all the mod-cons and are impeccably clean. We were pleasantly surprised to find there was an intimate music event scheduled for the evening of our arrival but dreaded being faced with amateur artists. Shame on us for thinking so. Rather, we were treated with real-for-real operatic singers who presented a potpourri of opera, show tunes and classics. Knocked our socks off. Afterward, we were seated for dinner. Four-course dinner and entertainment for €30 per person! The overall comfort and charm carried the day. Staff were hospitable and friendly. Breakfast was pretty much standard Euro-fare.

The structure, inserted in a building of ‘600, has been completely renovated to join the needs of our guests. We are in the historical center of Frascati, inserted between the alleys and squares of this small/large city that reveals all its charm. The rooms, located on the third and last floor (no lift), are comfortable, and romantic. Our terrace offers moments of relaxation and sharing. The location allows our guests to visit the beauties of the old town on foot. We are far from the train station ten minutes walk. The train connects Frascati to Rome in 30 minutes.
Due to a flight cancellation we had to find somewhere to stay at very short notice and "Buonfiglio Cicconcelli" seemed to fit the bill. Our biggest problem was finding the place as not being a hotel but an apartment it only had a very small name plate. Once we found it we contacted the owners to say we had arrived 3 hours before check in, not a problem, we waited 5 minutes and Magdaleena turned up and gave us access to the building. There are 70 steps upto the apartment, so think about this if you have a lot of luggage. From outside the building it doesn't look much, but the apartment has been renovated to a high standard and is tastefully decorated. There is a communal seating and kitchen area and three separate en suite bedrooms. The kitchen has coffee making facilities and a fridge stocked with water and fruit juices which is free to paying guests. We were in room 3 and were staying for two nights. It has air conditioning in good working order, everything seemed to be brand new. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night and street noise went on until approximately 11pm (to be expected) before quietening down and we slept soundly. The walls between rooms are maybe a little thin if you have inconsiderate neighbours, which we did on the first night, but this happens in the best of places. There is a large roof terrace with sun loungers and views towards Rome where we spent a few pleasant hours. Magdaleena and Stephan our hosts were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and living in the same square as where we were, they had great local knowledge of places to eat and shop, they even texted us to tell us about local attractions we could visit over the weekend. We were not flying out until 7.30pm on the Sunday and staying in the room until 4.30pm was not a problem. Breakfast was in the way of a voucher to be used at a local cafe where you could get hot drinks, fruit juices and pastries and was available from 6am through to 1pm. If you are visiting Rome but don;t want to pay Rome prices Frascati is a 20 minute train ride away and only costs 2 euro's and "Buonfiglio Cicconcelli" is a great place to stay, we would definitely stay again. Our hosts were the best, even texting us wishing us a pleasant journey home when we were on route to the airport.

This place in the centre of the town- which mean isn’t easy to find by car- help if you know that the main door can be find under the arcade near is pizeria and you can park on the squire of Gesu. Rooms are cleans has everything - coffee mashine, hairdryer ect. The railwaystation is 5 minute walk to Rome Termini- train goes in every half hour the last one comes back 21.54 I think. The only thing I didn’t like was the breakfast- egg was cold, there wasn’t bread only toast, and coffee was terrible. But you can find great bars in 25 m??
