We were greeted by a friendly mother and daughter upon entering and served a lovely fresh focaccia. We ordered several pasta dishes- all excellent, especially the tagliatelle- and grilled fish and vegetables. All excellent. My kids had pizza, which I sampled and it was delicious. Also had the eggplant parmigiana which was good but not excellent. Staff was very nice and very nice views of the beach. Highly recommended.

Le Gatte is a restaurant in a sixteenth century archway overlooking the sea at Santa Maria di Castellabate. They specialise in seafood, naturally enough, but also offer a buffalo and porcini option which I would recommend. The staff are very friendly. At least some speak English, though the village is a holiday destination for Neapolitans rather than foreigners. The view from the arches of the sun setting on the Mediterranean is marvellous.

This is one of the incidences where you do not judge a book by it's cover- although the exterior of Duca Dica is not inviting, the food and value make up for what the establishment lacks in decor.I have eaten here several times with locals and with my family members from the U.S. The restaurant is very clean and the pizza, seafood and antipasto were all quite fresh and tasty. Service was attentive and courteous. We enjoy sitting in the small dining area which faces the sea- quite pleasant on a cool late summer evening. Air conditioning available in the larger dining room.

We have eaten in Il Cantuccio for many years and have always found the food excellent. The pizza is also great. Service is laid back rather than slow. Remember this local Italy not Tourist Spain. The fact that the locals queue to get in to Il Cantuccio says enough.Try any of the fish dishes or the daily specials and you won't be disappointed.

I came to Santa Maria di Castelabate completely by accident and found this fantastic spot next to the attractive small beach. From the outside it looks more like a bar, and I was only expecting a simple lunch, but in fact I had really good one. It was mid September, so not busy, which maybe helps.

Put this dining venue on your list of must visits.Remarkable value for high quality food - even the house red wine was impressive.Be comforted the stellar reviews are accurate and La Nonna is the icon.Location may not be instantly appealing but everything else compensates in abundance.

The local it's pleasent and quiet, clean, the owners are very friendly and helpful, there is a great variaty of pizza, tasty, thin and crispy, also great italian coffee there, the prices are very good, decent among others in the area, highly recommended!!!I go there for a few years and never dissapointed me.

It has been said 100s of times before - but it has to be said again; This place is very special. Atmosphere, position, beach, sunset, prices, crew, kitchen, food - EVERY THING - EVERY TIME!! Fenomenal seafood. Pasta to die for. Vino excellent! Service brilliant and friendly! Suits the whole family!! Abseloute must when in castellabate!!

We visited again this summer (2015) and were delighted to find that the quality of the Pizzas remains unchanged - and excellent. You have to accept that the service is typically Italian - slow - and it is best to get there before 9.00pm and NOT when there is a local festa. That said, they serve the best pizzas in the area - which accounts for their popularity.
