A Family run Manor House situated 0.5 north of historic Cartmel village.Set in open meadowland overlooking 12c Cartmel Priory.Comfortable & relaxing atmosphere, offering the highest standards of service & Country House cuisine
If your looking for a relaxing, peaceful place to stay then look no further than Aynsome Manor. It’s full of character and charm and the staff are excellent and take care of everything for you. We were originally only stopping for two nights but extended our stay to a third. We had evening meals at the hotel and the standard of food was exceptional and very reasonably priced compared to what you would pay in cartmel. Breakfast was also excellent. This place gets a lot of repeat custom as once you have been you will want to go back. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Uplands Inn offers stunning views of the Leven Estuary and Morecambe Bay due to being 1 mile (or a 15 minute walk downhill) from the village of Cartmel on the fell. Originally a large residential house, the Hotel benefits from two acres of peaceful gardens which are perfect for walking dogs, al fresco dining, summer sunbathing or just taking in the views. The hotel is in the ideal location for visiting South Lakeland and the stunning Cumbrian coast. It is also a top choice for those visiting local events such as the Cartmel Races, the Steam Gathering Festival and the many events held by Holker Hall to name but a few. Furthermore, as the Inn is only a short drive from the M6 Motorway guests travel comfortably from a range of locations between Scotland and London. For guests, there is a choice of 8 comfortable bedrooms, 5 of which benefit from the stunning countryside views.

Visited the Cavendish Arms with my wife & Daughter for Dinner last night. Used the website to reserve a table - so easy and so convenient. Arrived on time seated promptly and politely by Olivier then we were offered menus and drinks order taken by Agness. Drinks were served swiftly. Food orderers were then taken allowing us plenty of time but not too long to chose from the great selection on offer. All courses arrived in pleasant time with no complaints at all. Clean plates all round for each course. Whole experience 10/10 and would highly recommend.

An idyllic country inn perched on the fellside overlooking the Winster Valley. The pub offers a delicious menu served daily, a great range of cask and bottled beers, superb wine list all in the most beautiful setting. Roaring log fires, low beamed ceilings and quirky seating areas welcome you in the colder months. The large outdoor seated terrace enables you to soak up the amazing views whilst enjoying a relaxing drink, fab food, or both! If you can stick around, we have two lovely cottages and five double suites to base yourself whilst enjoying the delights of the inn and it's surrounding vistas. Dogs are welcome in the bar area, and we also have some dog friendly accommodation too.
Visited on Bank Holiday Monday and had a lovely lunch, I had a superb Burger and my partner had the fish & chips which were equally tasty and plentiful. Great atmosphere and lovely staff will be back soon, ohhh and the locally Bowness brewed Blonde Ale was not bad too.

The hotel has well stocked bar which is open to non residents and appears to be a meeting place for local residents. Would thoroughly recommend the hotel for anyone wanting a reasonably priced stay in Cartmel.

Visited a few times over our stay in Cartmel, on the square in Cartmel. Friendly staff, local beers, nice conservatory and beer garden to the rear overlooking the river. Had music on early Sunday evening. Didn’t eat here but saw nice food being served.

Just had a long weekend staying with friends and we can’t say enough how we were made to feel so welcome. All the work that has been done on the B&B has certainly paid off, the rooms were lovely with everything we needed. Lovely breakfasts. So nice to stay on the square but at the same time it was lovely and quiet. All credit to Rachel and the team, we would definitely recommend and be back.
