Located close to the Argentinian border, surrounded by vineyards where you can have nice walks or bike rides. These walks are very nice and relaxing. The hotel has only five rooms so it is really a small charming place. There is the main house with reception, a nice cozy room with fireplace where you can have drinks, the annex with some rooms and the pool area with a very small gym. It is a pity the pool is not heated, but it is still a nice place to relax and read on a sunny day. The restaurant is 2 minutes walk away from the hotel and is also open for non hotel guests. The breakfast is very good, they have excellent yogurt and milk. Very good orange juice and coffee. Dinner is also good. There is also a shop where you can buy wine and other products. Rooms are large and very charming. The bathroom is very big, the room has nice seating area. Unfortunately there is no desk. Overall very nice rooms. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, they do their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I really appreciate their kindness. Definitely a great place to spend some quiet days. Not the most luxurious hotel but definitely one of the most charming. Highly recommended.

We just wrapped up our stay at Carmelo. My husband and I visited with our seven month old baby. At first we had some minor difficulties locating the property (Google Maps has this property in the wrong location in Carmelo, be forewarned) and with our room upon check-in, however the tram at Carmelo went well above and beyond to ensure that our experience met our expectations. Sebastián, the general manager, in particular was exceedingly helpful. We stayed in a duplex and the rooms are very large. The bedroom and bathroom were excellent, while the furniture in the living room was totally acceptable albeit somewhat dated. The lobby and property itself is stunning. March was an interesting time to go as the property was fairly empty. The two days that we were there we were the only people at the pool. You almost feel like you’re at summer camp or in a lodge in the mountains while on the property. We would certainly come back. We visited other hotels and B&Bs in the area for lunch or dinner, and every time we left I was SO thankful that we chose to stay at Carmelo and not one of the other properties that all appeared a bit run down. A couple areas of improvement: - the food was not good at Carmelo or Narbona. We couldn’t finish our meals. They are using US prices, so the meals were expensive and mediocre. Better option are to try some local restaurants. Basta Pedro was our favorite. Overall we found the food in Uruguay to be fairly poor, but this restaurant was reasonable. So if you are t going to love the meals, at least make sure you aren’t paying $25 per plate and have a bad meal at $5 per plate :). - the lobby of the hotel is beautiful and grand. Some music in the lobby could really make it even better. - a fire in the fireplace would also really add to the character. Seriously the lobby would double in grandeur with music and a fire going. It would be grand. All in all, I’m picky with hotels and I was very satisfied here. The rooms are large and only a little dated, but that is made up for by the pools, lobby, and other facilities. The staff are excellent. This is the best option in Carmelo.

We are the "Posada" of Campotinto Winery. Enjoy our great wines while discovering the peaceful and beautiful Wine Country of Carmelo. Visit our Winery, enjoy our Restaurant, make a bike tour of the area, or just relax and enjoy the gentle atmosphere of Carmelo with a glass great of wine.
A beautiful setting if you're looking to disconnect and enjoy the nature. The vineyards and surrounding area are so peaceful and well maintained. The rooms were very comfortable, a good size and very clean. Veronique was amazing at answering questions and gave some great advice. The hotel even provides free bicycles if you want to go off and explore other posadas and vineyards.

The hotel is at walking distance from the ferry to/from Tigre. It is a new-ish and well kept hotel, quite in contrast with the rest of town, which is quite run down. Parking is freely available just in front of the entrance.

Puerto Dijama is located in the fascinating natural surroundings of the Riverside Zagarzazú, being the only hotel in the area. A place with style and character, gives you the ideal conditions to disconnect and enjoy Carmelo's charm. Surrounded by trees, fields and just a few meters away from the white sandy beach of the river De la Plata, offers the perfect environment to relax and enjoy.
The hotel and it's grounds are very cozy, from the fireplace in the reception and restaurant building to the rooms. The cleaning is very well done and the rooms have comfortable beds and nice atmosphere. Pablo (manager) and Celeste have done everything to make our stay the best as possible. Really recommend this hotel for relaxing in Carmelo.

Beautiful hotel great location slightly spoilt by yet again poor South American service. Expensive so you expect good service , the food is poor I get the impression that they are relying heavily on their past reputation. There are lots of nice restaurants and winery’s nearby so it is slightly galling that every time you leave the hotel in a taxi they organize its $20 each way, organize your own it’s half the price. Could be world class with just a bit more attention to detail and customer service

we only stayed 2 nights in carmelo hostel - sadly, because we could've spent so much more time with gabriel, who lovingly takes care of his charming place. he did not only welcome us with his arms wide open but also provided many helpful tips about what do in carmelo and where to go. with him being so attentive and caring and the room being clean, colourful and nice, we felt very much at home and would definitely return another time!!

The best place for enjoy your holidays
Nice place, the owner is really really nice and helpful. The area is good; a bit far from the city centre but walking distance to a huge park and the beach. The Yatch Club is 300 metres away and the restauran there is excellent.

Let me start with the positive: the host was friendly, though because we don’t speak Spanish, we don’t really know what he was saying. But seems friendly enough. The room has AC that worked well, which was helpful since the area has a lot of mosquitos. The property is close to the beach. Now, the not so stellar bits: The property is really run-down. We couldn’t find it at first because there was a massive for-sale sign in the front. Everything in the apartment is really old. Some things like lamps just didn’t work. The swimming pool is really dirty with lots of bugs floating on top. The apartment has really terrible use of space, where the bathroom is minuscule but has a big empty living room. This property might have been nice at one time, but definitely not anymore.
