Reviewed By keisha1220Had a very nice room, they are dog friendly, have 2 restaurants and a bar. They have a pool but was not heated. Bartender was friendly and entertaining - we had a great time. We had an issue with the mattress but the situation was resolved and we would definitely stay here again

Nice stay
Reviewed By michaelpH2708QBThe bad- they gave us a key to a room already occupied. Luckily they were not in it. Reading reviews of hotels out this direction, it appears this is a common thing. There was an old avocado in the refrigerator. An d in the morning I did see one little critter crawling on the floor. The good- the price, the location to the caverns, comfortable beds. The good outdated the bad and for the price I would stay again.

Reviewed By Patricia Jgreat value for no frills place- but has most amenities people need- tv, refrig, microwave, internet. quiet- no noise from rooms next door or below or from highway, comfortable, clean, good shower. Weird toilets and no one in NM, including staff wear masks.

Reviewed By Badbart_9This place got a very generous 3 rating because it was survivable for one night and the TV, Internet, shower, and toilet all worked. And the bed was OK. BUT, it deserves no higher rating. It is WAY overpriced for a room that gives you: no light switch near the door like every other motel/hotel room on earth so that if you get in to the room late, you have to bumble around in the dark trying to locate the switches on the lamps scattered around the room, a broken door frame, a cracked window (taped over to hold it together, at least), and one, yes ONE, flimsy wire hanger provided. This also came with an indifferent "welcome" from the surly man in the office. Carlsbad is expensive, but I wished I'd heeded other reviewers and spent more for a room that had been maintained, that offered me the chance to do something wild and crazy like turn on the light upon opening the door, and that allowed me to hang up a shirt AND a pair of pants.

Reviewed By Disappointed60616484The room was not cleaned, the bed not made. I found the sheets on the bed as if i was supposed to make the bed myself. The blanket and comforter were just thrown on the chair so that tells me that they were not even clean or changed from the previous stay. The trash was not thrown and no towels in bathroom. It is disgusting having to walk through a hall filled with the stink of smoke.

Worst Hotel We Ever Stayed At
Reviewed By 683conniedI chose this hotel for the nice looking room, microwave/refrigerator, jacuzzi by the pool, hot breakfasts and lower cost. You get what you pay for, or even less than that. Right off the bat we see there is no breakfast and no water in the jacuzzi. The evening employee was not apologetic and seemed upset that he had pay us any attention. The two ice machines do not work, the laundry machines do not work. The first room we received the bathtub had pee stains all over it, there were no towels and the the towel rack was hanging from the wall. The TV control only turned power on/off and that was it. The room stank to high heavens. Most of the furniture in the two rooms we were in had wood chipped and scratched. The second room we asked for was cleaner, except that there was two huge cockroaches literally 1 1/2 inches long, I screamed while I killed one and the other one was found dead. The lighting in bathroom area had a short in it and the lighting at the vanity was awful. Never ever again will we stay at an Econo Lodge. The lower cost is not work being disgusted.
