Great value hotel
Reviewed By Tania NVelden has a picturesque setting and many expensive hotels. We were looking for mid range and found Rocket rooms. Situated fairly central, not far to the casino and bars. Room was small but spotlessly clean, new and a large comfy bed. Sabina, the lady in the resteraunt, was really friendly & helpful, told us what was on in Velden and how to get about and what to see. Breakfast was continental and available till 11. We really enjoyed our stay at Rocket Rooms and would comeback again and again. Great value for money!

The atmosphere in the hotel is so great that you feel taken care of in a special way and everybody is focused on you. Every single element in the hotel is carefully arranged, elegant and every detail makes you feel very important and welcomed here. We feel being treated here as good friends who are looked forward. Exceptional food, restaurant service and every guest looked after by the owner himself in the restaurant make us feel great and relaxed during fantastic 5 course dinners after long days of skiing. Old pictures on the walls correspond to over 200 years of history and we really feel here like being looked after by generations of Moerisch family. Good location but bad service
Reviewed By NS202020Unfortunately I cannot recommenced to stay here longer than a weekend. When we arrived after long travel we were not warmly welcomed at all, had to wait for 20 minutes at the really hot restaurant terrace until a really unfriendly lady gave us the check in letter. Also the hotel has no elevator, which makes it hard when you have heavy luggages. The foods in the restaurant are totally overpriced, better you go in town for dinner. It takes 10 minutes to prepare a beer even you stand in front of the bar! The owner was quite friendly but should invest in trainings and team members! The hotel has no own bathing area! Anyways, the Wörthersee is a nice place!

We’ve booked the apartment, which is compleet with all kinds of nice features like coffee machine, water cooker oven, dishwasher etc in the kitchen. Complete bathroom, nice living etc. The bus will take you to the Goldeck and driving to the Katzberg will only take about half an hour. Great week! Thanks again!

Small but very cosy hotel
Reviewed By MarkovicMilosI'm not sure if Spittal and der Drau is large village or a small town, but for sure it's a nice place for a day or two. On my way through Austria i stayed there for one night, and i picked this hotel. It's a small b&b with just couple of rooms. It is by no means a 5-star place, but quality of service for the price i've paid was a very pleasant surprise. Rooms are large, clean, and well kept. Bed was comfortable and sheets were clean. There was no minibar in the room. Free wifi was available. View from the room was over the flat roof (which is never good) and towards another roof, so in short: there was no view. Bathroom was excellent maintained, with no unpleasant smells, and no signs of mold around the shower. Breakfast was is served at ground floor, in area which is used in evenings as a Mexican restaurant. It's a small place so don't expect miracles, but choice of foods, serials, teas, etc. was much larger than you would normally find in small places like this. Staff was also very friendly. Place is also advertised as romantic getaway, but if i was you i would make a choice in advance: dinner at the Mexican restaurant downstairs, or a romantic night up at one of their rooms. Both together are not a good idea for all the obvious reasons. ;0)

It is located on the motorway side of the Wörthersee in Pörtschach but is set in its own large but tranquil grounds and on its own peninsula. It is family run and you get a real homely welcome from all the employees. The lakeside restaurant serves stunning Austrian and Mediterranean cuisine and in sunny weather, the huge breakfast buffet is served on the terrace. Half-board also includes homemade afternoon cakes and a gourmet meal every night comprising 5 or 6 courses. There's a nice spa area and they do great golf week packages where you can avail yourself of the excellent value Alpe Adria Golfcard. The wonderful Dellach GC is just the other side of the lake and easily accessible.

Reviewed By janajasWe traveled with two kids - 3yo and 7months old, looking for some rest after long stressful time during covid. It was a great choice! Reception worked well, very kind, answered patiently all questions. Our house was clean and cozy, with all baby equipment we might have needed- including bathtub for baby! There are two pools in the village, indoor and outdoor, indoor water was great for our baby. Pools are small but all we needed. Next to the pool is a baby klub with lots of toys and caretakers! Thats amazing, because we could stay longer by the pool, since kids didnt have such a long exposure to sun. They went inside and played. While we stayed couple meters lying on sunbeds. We had breakfast included in our trip, it was satisfactory. Everyone can find what they like. I hope we get to go again. Fully recommended!
