The food is amazing. Every item is carefully prepared. The carnitas in the burritos are slow cooked and incredibly moist. The chipotle and pesto sauces are also a great touch. Everything is fresh and homemade. Can't go wrong with any of the items on the menu. The prices are very affordable. If you are in Ponce and are looking for a place for lunch you should definitely try it.

Went for a casual lunch on a Sunday. We were offered chips as a starter which was comprised of a very small plate with maybe 20 chips and salsa if you asked for additional chips you were charged. Their local tamarind sangria is very good as is the molcajete with your choice of beef, seafood or chicken but be prepared to pay upward of $20 for that choice. Their soups are also good although beware that some are very hot and spicy. Outside of these choices is the same Mexican fare you can find anywhere except here is a little more expensive. The service is slow although the intensions are good. High priced for the type of food.

Ever since it opened as La Salsa, it has been a staple of TexMex food in Ponce. Good variety, freshly made salsas for your meal, unlimited soda refills, and a friendly atmosphere make it a great option for snacking or dining. Try the El Champion burrito if you dare!
This wonderful Mexican cantina in the heart of Ponceâs central square will surprise you. They feature the traditional tacos and burritos, but try the Puerto Rican burrito with amarillos snd potatoes, itâs a must. The prices are affordable snd the service staff is excellent. I strongly recommend it for the Ponce traveler.

Carla and I had a few minutes for lunch. Across the street from the Plaza Degetau (center city of Ponce) is a Mexican restaurant. Lunch in PR is a process. Little bit of a wait before we got the bartender's attention.I ordered the fish tacos. I cannot remember what Carla order but I do remembered that we ordered a second round of those tacos. The meal was very inexpensive. We will be going back.
