Reviews on International food in Virgin Gorda, Caribbean. Life is just a little bit slower on Virgin Gorda, so named because this British Virgin Island resembles a large reclining woman. The laid-back pace of the island is the perfect excuse to take your time, whether you’re wading along the granite grottoes of The Baths, doing some casual snorkeling in Devil’s Bay, or exploring the stone ruins of a 19th century Copper Mine. Hanging out in the hammock at Mad Dog while you sip a Painkiller is the ultimate in Virgin Gorda relaxation.

Made reservations here for our last night on Virgin Gorda due to many recommendations and the excellent reviews on this site, but we were honestly disappointed with our meal there. The setting is fantastic and did not disappoint- many steps up to a lovely small dining room with balconies and a panoramic view. Our meals were delicious, with attentive service, but nothing special compared to several other island restaurants that are less expensive. We were already adjusted to the high food costs on VG, but this restaurant had the smallest portions and most overpriced wine. If you're spending >$100 per person you should not be leaving hungry! We skipped dessert and stopped at Buck's grocery on the way home for a second dinner and ice cream. We would not return to this restaurant on our next visit to the island.

We dined at Sugarcane three times during our month-long visit to the BVI. A very comfortable, beautifully designed restaurant. Each time the food was delicious, fresh and well presented; the service was attentive and efficient at all times. As the remodelled restaurant is now elevated, fabulous panoramic ocean views can be enjoyed from all corners of the restaurant. Canât wait to go back! We're so happy that you had such a positive experience at Sugarcane and that you came back to enjoy our food several times. Thank you for your review. We look forward to welcoming you back next time!
This is a small grocer in the harbor that also does provisioning.
We went to this market to get something for breakfast, and found very little fresh anything. Forget the rolls, or bakery items - too much grease, and a waste. Getting good produce to this area is difficult, so understand not to expect much. Limited supplies, unless you are able to purchase wholesale - probably a boat outfitter would have a better selection and pricing.
