Things to do in Ponce
We went on a Sunday. This is a combination of local and chinese food restaurant. On sundays they upgrade the buffet with seafood and sushi. There is a lot of different food to choose, meat , chicken, fish and the seafood. Very good
I stayed in Ponce for the night just to visit some family members. One of my cousins suggested El Balcon. The food, the people and the ambience was everything I expected for a local hub. Try the Conch sandwich (I'm salivating as I writing this!), it was like something I've had in my life! I will go back on a heart beat!

Food was ridiculously oversalted and the service extremely slow. We ended up leaving all of our food after waiting what seemed like an eternity. It is a pity since the restaurant's location is pretty great. I highly recommend you avoid this place and eat somewhere else.

We were celebrating my love 50th aniversary at this beautiful restaurant in the back under the stars. Excellent food beginning with the "Tostones cubiertos de Churrasco", following with the Parrillada (with excellent meat cuts) and finishing with the homemade Vainilla Custard. The service and the Live Music were excellent.

Something we have noticed throughout Puerto Rico is that fresh seafood is hard to find. Everyone calls it fresh but if you press the issue, they will tell you itâs frozen. This seems to be the new norm..Wrong! Not at The Monserratâs. The seafood is fresh, never frozen and they serve you a properly sized portion. Let me tell you another great thing; these ladies in the kitchen know how to cook . The food is excellent. The seafood fresh. And the view cannot be matched. This place is really that good. Even their non-seafood selections are great. And when visiting , donât forget to feed the tarpon below. Excellent...Loved it....

The food here continues to be dependably good but service disappoints. Restaurant was half full when we recently visited with several staff who seemed to be all either out at one table or nowhere. Took us over an hour to get our food and in that time no one came to ask if we wanted more drinks etc., even after one in our party went to bar area to get refill. Likewise no offer of desert nor coffee - doesnât seem to be a great way to be making money!

Took the family to celebrate my Dad's birthday. The restaurant is a little tricky to get to, but we made it. Parking is unique as well. However, the food and the service were good. The recommendations were good and the waitress did a good job of upselling us on items, but they were very good. The pita bread and hummus are very good, but the portion is small. All in all, it was a nice evening by the water. During our dinner someone got engaged and it was followed by a big party.

Lobster Empanadillas ; very good filling and dough. not overly oilyPollo (Chicken) Tostones ; Plantains very fresh although a bit bland, but use the garlic sauce for these. Perfect combo. I went to La Casa del Chef while visiting friends in Ponce. The place was so good that I ate there again before leaving. Whether authentic Puerto Rican food or seafood, the restaurant offered a fabulous option. I had the milanesa steak with fired plantains (tostones). It was awesome. When I returned I had the sautéed steak. It was also great. Also, the service was excellent. Five stars for La Casa del Chef!
