Reviews on Caribbean food in Isla de Vieques, Caribbean. The glowing Mosquito Bay is a vision of bizarre beauty. Thanks to a bioluminescent microorganism, the water is a cool electric blue, looking somewhat like a fantastical sci-fi lagoon. Kayak or hop into a clear-bottomed pontoon boat to glide along the neon waters. Swimmers and snorkelers will adore the pristine, undeveloped beaches. Keep an eye out for the playful feral horses that gallop along the dunes, or visit the stately ceiba tree that’s been keeping watch over the highland for three centuries.

For an inexpensive and clean option in the perfect location in Vieques this was perfect. Rooms were a bit small but air conditioned with a good size bathroom. Continental breakfast included and if you need something more go to Lazy Jacks a couple hundred feet away. Ocean is right across the street along with the Malecon. I would say one of the best of moderate to low priced options on the island. We would definitely go back.

Welcome to El Guayacán a Boricua Restaurant here in El Malecón de Esperanza in Vieques, Puerto Rico. We create a special fusion in the food with local fresh products. Enjoy Vieques enjoy El Guayacà n.
husband and I visited Vieques this weekend and were turned off by the amount of "American" food restaurants on Flamboyán street and more importantly, the poor quality of said food. We were incredibly happy to find El Guayacán. Right now they seem to be rebuilding certain parts of the restaurant due to hurricane damage, so the spot looks very low key, however, the food and the service more than make up for it. Eating at El Guayacán felt like having dinner at someone's home. The owner greeted my husband and I and was very friendly and helpful. We had their fish of the day which was a huge snapper, served fried with a garlic sauce on top, sweet plantains and coconut arepas. It was the best meal we had all weekend. I strongly recommend eating here when in Vieques.Really thanks and welcome back

Its not just the space that we see as art, itâs the food as well. Executive Chef, Carlos Perez. brings to the table Contemporary Puerto Rican cuisine centered around our bayahonda mesquite fired grill and Rotisol rotisserie that is always fresh, very ofte
This restaurant is probably the most upscale place to eat on Vieques. The only justification (perhaps) for the very high prices is the open air atmosphere across the street from the ocean. The food was acceptable, but certainly not worth the prices. (Something to keep in mind, if you're used to Maine lobster, is that the lobster served here is spiny lobster - the kind without large claws - and is much fishier-tasting.) Probably the biggest surprise, though, was how poor the service was. Our waitress was somewhat less than friendly and seemed to be put out by every request we made. Also, the time to prepare the food was excessive. Given the fact that the place wasn't even half full, we waited an unbelievably long time to get our food. We were looking for a special place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, and our hotel manager recommended El Blok, but I would suggest almost any of the other restaurants on The Malecon over this one.

Tried Biekes for lunch and I tried the mofongo based on others reviews but found the mofongo to be just so-so. It was good but not great or the best. The pork steak however was TO DIE FOR perfectly seasoned and tender and juicy.

I like the Esperanza Boulevard and it's restaurant. Duffy's is one of my favorites. Their spiral potato and sweet potato fries are excellent as well as the desserts. Very relax ambiance.Thank you, gerymere2017! We appreciate your kind words and are happy you enjoyed your food and the ambiance! We hope you can make it back to the islands again soon.

We stopped in for dinner at Bili after reading all of the great reviews. We were not disappointed. The drink special for the evening was our favorite drink on the island. Fresh and light which as perfect to go with our food. The fresh fish appetizers were the best of the meal and would recommend any of their fresh catch options. Causal yet elegant food.

Bananas is known as the "Island Meeting Place". We are on island time, which means no worry, no hassle. People from all over come here to drink, eat and people watch. So come on in and have a beer...how about a frozen pina colada? Whatever your poison, le
Service was great. The food was delicious. The Pain Killer was fantastic. We liked it so much we ate there several times while we were visiting Vieques.

Island fine dining located on the waterfront in Esperanza. Innovative cuisine with lots of flavors. Featured items include fresh local seafood, specialty cocktails, and local greens. Vegan and vegetarian items also available.
We ended up at El Quenepo because our original place was closed. Wow- we were fortunate. I had read the reviews before hand, so I knew we were in for a treat. Be prepared to spend âmore than the usual Vieques price,â but I guarantee the food and service will not disappoint! Their wine and cocktail list were inventive and extensive. Our friend tried what we now call the âLorena Bobbitâ drink- sorry guys- a mixture of tamaraind juice, gin and lime. Food was ample amounts and super fresh! The arugula salad was a nice change to the typical salads. The jerk chicken was nicely spiced not overwhelming hot. The sweet potato salad was interesting. The pork tenderloin was cooked to perfection. The only drawback was the shrimp and conch- it should have been called just shrimp bc only two small pieces of conch were present. Overall, a fantastic meal to end our trip to Vieques!

Great restaurant that combine tradicional caribbean home cooking style with creative and modern cusine. Come and taste the island flavors at Bigotes Restaurant.
We had seen this place many times, but yesterday was our first time eating at the restaurant. I was amazed by the variety or typical dishes and seafood alternatives!! We live in Vieques for more than 5 years now and we have certain places we love to go for our meals, but decided to visit new ones to make reviews for visitors and maybe we find a new favorite one! This is definitely a winner on our list! The amount of food is great, the ribs and yellow hamburger were delicious and the service Marie gave us was superb! The place is simple and clean! You must know that in order to get to the restroom you must climb stairs. Iâm putting a picture up that shows the steps to the restroom in case you need to know more details. They have parking spaces and inside and outside sitting areas as well as a full bar area. We encourage you to visit it and try one of the many options of seafood, mofongo, hamburgers, and much more!!
