We stayed a night at Le Vauban in Carentan on our way to Center Parcs in Sologne, having crossed the Channel from Portsmouth to Cherbourg. The hotel is clean and comfortable. This is good value for money. The staff was helpful and made sure we had the 2 bedrooms together. The boys enjoyed the caramels from Isigny at the reception. The only thing missing was a kettle in the room, but with the hot weather this was not really required.

We loved our stay! The bed was super comfortable and big. The room was huge. Everything was spotless. The bathroom was good as well as the shower. Breakfast was superb: crossaints, cake, bread, jam, yoghurt, fruit, orange juice, coffee, chocolate...and many of these things were home made. The location is wonderful. Quiet and great to explore everything around Utah Beach. The host was extremely nice and hospitable. It was definetely one of (if not the) best accomondation on our two-week-trip through France. Wifi could have been better.

Very uncomfortable. Toilet too close to opposite wall, no pillows, incontinence sheet on the bed , bathroom door does not shut, shower door doesn’t shut, toilet flush knob broken, tap loose, shower attachment broken So many thinks that doesn’t work. Hard to sleep with rubber sheet on bed and just tiny cushions for pillows

This is a family run hotel and English is spoken very well . All the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The room was quiet and clean but a bit tired and shabby. The bathroom is large but is a wet room and no matter what you do it turns into a lake. We did not eat here but perhaps we should because the restaurant filled up with locals...always a good sign

Domaine Airborne is a remarkable thematic overnight accommodation in the middle of an area where Invasion history is written. In and around this beautiful 17th century farm you will return back in time. Personal attention, comfort, style and relaxation are the ingredients for an experience with a historic character. You will taste history into the footsteps from the paratroopers which were around
Superb and very cosy place to spend the couple of days necessary to visit Normandy and its WW2 history. After having visited the WW landing beaches, you'll find this place a very rich personal museum in which you can spend the night. Absolutely recommended.

We stayed at this property as a family of four in two rooms. The pros, nice breakfast, although I find it a bit tiresome conversing with strangers each morning In the hot sunroom. We also liked that it was walking distance to restaurants in town at night. The cons, no air conditioning, extremely loud at night if you are in a room on the front side of the building due to cars and trucks driving by. We had a stop light shining red, and green in our room all night and the mosquitoes were terrible due to needing to leave the windows open for cool air. Additionally, the guests above us were extremely loud each morning with children running around. Not a very good nights sleep. Would stay somewhere else with air conditioning if possible if we visited again.

Stayed here as a base for a visiting the Normandy beaches. Excellent location between Utah and Omaha. The room was much nicer and roomier than expected. Clean and quiet. Located adjacent to a horse farm - lovely gardens, friendly (French-speaking only hostess).

We happened upon this delightful place in Normandy. The restaurant is associated with a small and charming-looking hotel right near a train station. We were seated in a sun room area, and were charmed by the staff and the selections on the menu. Lunch was wonderful and we recommend it highly.

We should have stayed at this campsite from the 19th July but due to the pandemic our ferry crossing was cancelled and we were unable to get there. Prior to paying the full amount, we contacted the owner and asked if we could hold off paying the full amount until we knew if we would be able to travel, as foreign office advice at that time was no travelling abroad. We thought that maybe if we could not travel at least the owner would allow us to move our dates to next year or issue a credit note as is happening in the UK. But no such luck. We were told to either pay the full amount, but they would let us move our dates up until the end of September if we so wished, or lose the deposit. We took the deposit loss as we could not afford to lose the whole amount if we were unable to travel. Yes, I understand that the site owners have lost money from not being able to accept customers throughout the season due to Covid, but lots of companies are being flexible in a bid to retain their customers for the future. The children return to school in September so how were we going to be able to visit in September? That left us with a very small window of opportunity to visit on a different date and with cancelled ferry crossings too, this made it impossible. We will never ever now visit this camp site. A shame, I understand that it is in a beautiful location. Overall customer satisfaction is obviously not one of their strong points. They do not understand that this begins from the point of booking right through until the customer has gone home and told all their friends and family about their experiences. Well all my friends and family have now heard about my experiences. Don't book unless you can actually go because you'll get no sympathy from the woman at the other end of the telephone!

Leaving the ferry in the morning of Easter Monday, we were driving from Cherbourg to Denia in Spain. Unfortunately, our car broke down about 10 kilometres from Carentan. We were collected by a local pick-up truck and the car was delivered to the local Mercedes garage the next morning. We were very fortunate to find ourselves delivered to "La Roselière" and even more fortunate to stay and enjoy three nights in this beautiful house. We were very warmly welcomed by Natalie and shown to our room which was extremely comfortable. Our car was repaired after two days but we decided to stay another day because it was perfect. Breakfast was typically continental but with a selection of homemade confitures which were excellent. Natalie was extremely helpful and told us of many interesting places nearby to visit. In short we were unfortunate to break down but very lucky to have discovered "La Rosèliere", every cloud has a silver lining.
