Ok, so our last night in Trebes and we decided on this place. The owner was in and he spoke good English, just as well as our French was non existent. The first bottle of wine came which was from there family vineyard (he is the fifth generation owner) and it was great. The first round of tapas came, all 5 dishes for four of us and it was WOW, so wow that we ordered another five and a bit more wine. Great evening never to be forgotten, great vibe and the staff are passionate about the work, highly recommend.

The set menus amongst the restaurants of Carcassonne are all very similar, but we were very happy with their cassoulet lunch menu, which included a generous quantity of duck, and their creme brûlée was good. Friendly and helpful staff, nice environment, no complaints!

In such a touristic place as Carcassonne medieval city, it is often difficult to find good places. Le Creneau is one of these. Food is very good. and you can choose from tapas, for light (well....) fare or classic starters and main courses. And of course, you can enjoy a good Cassoulet. All with a view on the Comtal Castle. And a very friendly staff. Thanks again for the Cabanel peppermint cream !
