Lying in south central Turkey, the moonscaped region of Cappadocia, southeast of Ankara, is most famous for unique geological features called fairy chimneys. The large, cone-like formations were created over time by erosion of the relatively soft volcanic ash around them. Past cultures have dug into them to create dwellings, castles (like Uchisar) and even entire underground cities like Kaymakli and Derinkuyu, used as hiding places by early Christians. Nearby Kayseri is the gateway to the area.

At the center of Goreme, you have made an excellent choice to start your day with hot air balloons dance at your leisure with perfect organic breakfast view of Uchisar Castle and Love Valley. You will admire the comfort of 9 stone rooms and suites in Cappadocia architecture.
I highly recommend staying at the Lucky Cave Hotel if you are visiting Cappadocia. The location is perfect: in the heart of the town, near the nicest restaurants and cool souvenir shops. The rooms have old-time charm with the comfort of modern hotels, and very clean. The owner - Gokhan - is a super helpful guy and goes out of his way to make your stay there comfortable. He arranged day tours and other activities for our group, saving us time and getting great deals for us. The breakfast is amazing: everything is freshly prepared and tasty. The interior is very tastefully done too. If you decide to stay at this hotel, have a cup of early morning Turkish coffee up in the terrace to enjoy the view of the flying balloons! Definitely a place worth staying at.

Karadut Cave Hotel is a boutique hotel project brought to life as a result of the restoration of a traditional stone house in Cappadocia. Karadut Cave Hotel, with its beautiful rock and arch rooms and unique view of valleys of Goreme, was opened in 2012.
Great spot to stay. We loved the view (there is also a rooftop with a great early morning balloon view), location, and spacious room. Staff were super friendly and helpful to organize tours and show us how to start hikes (you can just walk from the hotel to them). Laundry was done for a reasonable price. Rooms have basic amenities and were clean.

A family run business. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. It was a short stay. The whole family seemed to be involved and they create a lovely cosy family feel. We enjoyed our stay. They provided a lovely traditional breakfast before we departed.

This property situated right in the centre of Ürgüp is family owned and passed down from previous generation. It is more like a home / BB than a hotel. The decor is unique and ancient like days gone by. Is it an authentic cave hotel? Not sure? At least it presents itself like it and looks like one. The couple that runs it is welcoming, hospitable, friendly and extremely helpful. We slept in for 2 days and we were surprised we could still have breakfast at 11am. It was well received. A kettle, tea bags, a large bottle of water is provided in the room. Hair dryer, shampoo and body lotion also provided. I don’t believe there is daily room service. They empty the bins and re-fill toilet paper and water if needed daily. We were happy with the towels and sheets not being changed every day as better for the environment however they should change the bathroom floor towel. Price is value for money as well. Overall a very satisfying experience and will definitely recommend staying here.
