Whether you are looking for a bike repair, a place to have a chat or eat lunch you have come to the right place. Lots on the menu including authentic Icelandic meat soup. I had a spicy burger and fries. Service is very friendly and I always like owner operated restaurants.

Just the job on a cold day in Reykjavik. We enjoyed the lamb soup and refills! So tasty and nourishing. It was served piping hot, very quickly. Also free macaroons for afters. Much cheaper than we've had elsewhere and just as nice if not better. We were served by "michaeli?" a friendly young man in a yellow checked shirt; very enthusiastic, he really seemed to enjoy his job; thank you. .Hello John P Thank you for taking the time to leave Icelandic Street Food a review! We are happy to hear our warm soup was prefect for a cold day! We will make sure to pass along the compliment to the staff.

We visited after reading the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor - and it did not disappoint. I had the lobster soup and it was absolutely delicious (photos attached). My husband had the fish and chips, which he also enjoyed.Better still was the fantastic service we received, we were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked in and the owner couldn’t do enough for us. If we could have gone back again, we would have - but sadly it was our last day in Iceland. I would definitely recommend. If the owners are reading this - thank you for such a lovely experience.

Castello Pizzeria

Fire baked Pizza Restaurant.

We wound up not eating here because we expected more variety in the menu due to the website listing. Cheapest pizza was around 1800 isk. Given that we got two large very good tasting pizzas at Pizzan for 2500 isk, we believed it to be a little overpriced. They did have a room for children to play in. You have to order at the front and then take your seats.

This little stand is open late, if you're in the area you have to stop in! They do have a menu in English if you need it. We got a burger, fries, and of course an Icelandic hotdog (this one had potato salad on it also, you gotta try it!!) decent price and good food, recommend you try them out! They take card and do have two small tables inside to eat at if you prefer, but we got it to go.

I believe this is an Icelandic chain, offering burgers and a lot more. Staying at the nearby Nordurey hotel, this was 5-7 minutes walk in the snow. Just far enough to whet the appetite. The burger and the fries were quite good, certainly better than any of the chain burger joints back in our home town. Based on the reviews they may have occasional growing pains, but we were pleased to find a good meal for less than $20. This is no small accomplishment in Iceland. They have a pretty broad menu. This was one of the three best meals we got in Hafnarfjordur, and tied for lowest price. We'd go back...

After struggling to find decent veggie food in Reykjavik, I stumbled across BioBorgari when searching via Google. The menu is small but everything is freshly made and the veggie burger was really moist and full of flavour. Get there early as it's quite a little place so you may not get a table as it's popular with the locals and you can't make a reservation. The owner is friendly and responds quickly to online queries. Will definitely pop back if I visit Reykjavik again. Thanks for the feedback, Cat! It was great to have you and that you loved our veggie burger is a plus, since the veggie patties are made from scratch by us!We have a small cosy restaurant but since we serve "fast food", usually the customer flow moves quickly enough for people to seat by the time their food is ready. We also have compostable take-away packaging, which is another popular option for locals as well!Thank you again and we hope to see you in a nearby future on your next visit!Safe travels!
