Find out what Seafood restaurants to try in Buenos Aires. Buenos Aires is a cosmopolitan city, a melting pot of very different types of people who have shaped the identity of each of its neighborhoods. Wave after wave of immigration, along with the porteños’ penchant for looking abroad, have infused each area with its own unique features, be it Recoleta’s aristocratic legacy or San Telmo’s love affair with tango.

This is a fine restaurant nicely situated in Puerta Madero. It has a predominant Italian flair with fish and meat and pasta dishes aplenty. The waiters are serious but helpful and accommodating. The polpo starter was among the best octopus I have ever had, served cold with olive oil. The risotto with mushrooms tasted as if prepared in northern Italy and was complimented with a nice Malbec! The complimentary limoncello at the end was a nice touch. Beware of the portions which are mostly designed for two big eaters. Medio portions are available. Buon appetito!

A pleasant restaurant but although the food is quite good, it was expensive, cheapest wine about 130 pesos, tables are far too close together, too noisy. A little pretentious for what you pay. There are much better value restaurants in Villa Urquiza, notably La Luciana in Alvarez Thomas, which I reviewed about a month ago.

Towards the end of our two week trip, Osaka was a welcomed break from steak. We’ve been to Japan and have both agreed that the sushi we had in this restaurant was up there with what we ate in Japan! We loved the super unique Peruvian twist! Massive thanks to Juan our waiter who we asked to basically choose what we should order and everything he brought out for us was incredible!! Yes, it’s expensive - but it’s worth the money. Highly recommend!!!

We booked online and didn't realise we'd booked to eat in the fully covered roof area. There was a lovely atmosphere up there and although they offered as a table downstairs we stayed with the roof area. The food was delicious, for me the best I had on our trip. I had the fish the waiter recommended which was excellent and my husband had steak which he also said was excellent as were the sides dishes. For desert I had vanilla icecream with Dom Pedro and they were really generous with the amount they poured over and after we got a limoncello on the house. The waiter was really outstanding he couldn't have been more helpful. It was our last evening in Argenina and we were very pleased we chose this restaurant. When we left it was completely full up so it's advisable to book

We were staying at the Hilton nearby this restaurant and were wanting to try some Italian food. There are several restaurants behind the Hilton on the waterfront, and we were eating in the 6:00 range, so many of them were not even open for dinner yet. We opted for Sorrento, and it did not disappoint. However, we really didn’t order Italian. They offered pasta dishes but we both went for the fish. We ordered gambas with garlic as a starter and two fish dishes. I was a little disappointed in mine only because it was described as fish with asparagus, shrimp, mussels and a poached egg. The asparagus was canned; the shrimp was one langostino served with its head, and the egg was hard. There were also tasteless sliced boiled potatoes and four mussels. The mussels and fish were good, but I would have ordered pasta if I had seen the dish plated prior to ordering it. My husband ordered sole with shrimp and capers and Andean potatoes. His was excellent. The wine was great. The service was great early on, but after they got busy, it was pretty slow. Our view was pleasant, and we weren’t in a hurry, so we enjoyed ourselves completely.

We always visit Crizia on our last day of our Argentina vacation to enjoy a culinary highlight in the Capital before the long trip home. Crizia has a good cocktail list, fabulous oysters and superbe mains. Service is friendly and great and the kitchen surprised with those amuse bouches in between. This time I went all Patagonian, with a cocktail made from Patagonian gin and Pisco, Patagonian oysters and the excellent slow cooked Patagonian lamb. Later came the Patagonian apple (ice cream).
