We have visited Forno Giusti every day for the last 4 weeks and have never been disappointed in our selection. Whether it is the best buccelatto in Lucca for breakfast or bread and rolls for dinner, everything is excellent. The focaccia with tomatoes is especially good if you are there around lunch time. They have even elevated the lowly hamburger bun to something delicious. Everyone is friendly and some of the staff speaks English. Don't wait too late to go because they sell out of almost everything every day. Closed on Sunday.

Charming restaurant located in the basement of the Palace Bernardini (1580). History and tradition on local and Tuscan cuisine, gluten free proposals, private parties, groups and business meals. Cantine Bernardini in the heart of Lucca is a place where you can enjoy your time in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and where the taste of tradition is reinterpreted in new forms. The food is made with local ingredients and the menu changes according to the seasons. The dishes are traditional and include proposals like"garmugia lucchese"(a vegetable soup), tench risotto, roasted cod fish, and original recipes as "cecina milfoil" or veggy gulash. Try the "zuccotto lucchese"! The menu provides also gluten free, vegetarian and vegan proposals. Special proposals for groups, lunch and dinner. Groups dining in charming atmosphere, groups wine tastings.Wine bar, enoteca. Family parties and groups, children menù.
We had two nights here it was so great local sources attention to detail great advice and wine list let us in before they were actually open and let us do a wine tasting while waiting for actual hoursthank you for choosing Cantine Bernardini and thank you for your kind review. Best regards. Alessandro & Francesco

A cute outdoor cafe that is open late at night when everything else was closed. We arrived in Lucca late in the evening and by the time we went out to dinner, nothing was open. We strolled though the town and found this cute outside cafe that was serving great food. Louis and David are the owner proprietors and they are the only two staff. So friendly and great food and service. We went back often and it was always busy. Louis is the front person and so friendly and engaging, David is the chef. We still think about them and that cute place.
Great meal with lots of g/f choices. Friendly staff and a lovely homemade limoncello to finish. Reasonable prices too. Well worth a visit.

What a surprise to find this excellent restaurant right on our doorstep. I loved the fusion of Asian and Italian food and everything was beautifully presented too. We shared the tempura vegetables and fish, and that was a good thing too, as the portion was very generous. I then had the raw and seared scallops for starters, which had orange jelly and lots of different leaves to accompany it. It was very delicate and delicious.
For mains I had the pork ravioli with a fennel sauce, and that too was very subtle and delicious. The portion was also just right (not too small, but also not too much). I love it when you are just satisfied, but not bloated, and they get their portions just right here.
I then had a lovely and light crème brulée for dessert and that finished it off just perfectly.
Highly recommended!

This is a small, friendly place. We had polenta with mushrooms that was good, some pasta with tomatoes that was a bit overcooked and bland plus some really good ravioli. Not a bad dinner at all, but considering the high rating on Tripadvisor I guess we were a bit disappointed. When we were ordering our food, a pretty girl walked by our table and we had to repeat the order again to the waiter. Funny. This rating should be somewhere between 3 and 4 stars.

Solo asporto
In Lucca for a few days, stopped by twice, joined the queue just like the locals(this was 10pm at night!), still awesome ice cream, not a huge choice, but nothing but the very best of their current selection, mustn't leave it as long next time!

Paninoteca specializzata in panini e focacce farcite
Tiny 'hole in the wall' Sandwich shop selling a wide range of fillings in warm bread. They also have drinks and a few sweet things. We went two days running and had substantial, filling lunches very reasonably priced.Service was lovely too. My partner adored the lardo & tomatoes combination and had it both days. I had ham and artichokes one day, pork and mushrooms the next - both delicious. There is hardly any room to eat there but you can take them away - there are plenty of benches to choose from nearby!

We read some great reviews about this place and decided to come here on our last night in Lucca. It did not disappoint! We had the Nduja and Ciaccia's pizzas, both of which were phenomenal! Some of the best pizza we had in Italy! Must...MoreDear Sirs, we remember of you, you are the nice couple from Canada, isn't? Thanks a lot for your great review, we are so happy to have contributed to spend a nice night for your last day in Lucca. Best Regards. Pizzeria Dal Ciaccia

This shop serves very creamy gelato, which you can eat while you enjoy the splendor of the Amphitheater piazza. The prices seem to be in line with other gelato stands in Lucca. We make it a point to visit here whenever we take guests to Lucca.
