After moving to Affoltern am Albis, my family and I always wondered about Central: the restaurant was always busy on the weekends. We finally tried it out when my parents visited and were very happy with the experience.Staff was friendly and helpful (especially with a small child). Decor was a touch better than the typical Swiss style of bright lights, wood panelling, etc. That being said, it was "warm" and "cozy" and a generally a nice place to be.Dinner was traditional European fare, however the restaurant also specialises in Steak Tartar. So much, so they have an entire menu card devoted to different styles of tartar. My wife and parents went for warm food, which looked nice (albeit I didn't taste it). My tartar was to die for: fresh, lots of flavour, and a nice solid spicy kick.Prices were above average for a Swiss night out, with the total meal (including some drinks) of well over CHF 300. Nonetheless, it was a very nice experience and I would happily go back.

Convenient â Itâs right next door to the Holiday Inn Affoltern AM Albis. We were hungry and walked next door.Expensive â If food is very good, I donât mind paying for it. Switzerland is expensive and so I get that but the food should still be excellent to warrant the price.Taste â For the price this place is charging for a pizza and pasta, it should be excellent. It was just edible. It wasnât horrible but it was bland. If this place is your only option for supper come here but if youâre slightly hungry, there is a convenience store not far from the hotel.

We have been looking for some alternatives to eat our beloved Cordon Bleus and found the Restaurant Krone. The service there was good, nice ambient, food tasted really great. The only negativ thing is the price - also compared to other restaurants, it seems quite expensive.

Went there this July. Easy to find off the road (Bonhofstrasse) parallel to train tracks. Place was busy with guests but still had room for us under the terrace. We were adressed and seated immediately. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Food was good! Two pizzas fed three of us (with beers). Stonebaked pizza, with crust to order (if you can speak German or gesture your way to success). I had one with salami and it was delicious. It came with an included small appetizer too. Cost ranged 16-20 Swiss Francs per pizza. They had some great looking pasta too, they were around 25 Francs per dish. I would bring friends there again.

There are good reasons why this hidden gem is described in the Swiss book with the funny title 'Cervelat und Tafelspitz'. The owner with his impressive beard welcomes you with cordiality. No reaching for the stars, but imaginative dishes with correct, honest products and a dash of spices and herbs. If you have the weather gods on your side, you will enjoy the wonderful intimate garden. This is rural charm in an absolutely positive sense.A blackboard shows the offers of the day - sometimes with remarkable surprises.
