We ate at here on Monday luckily, they have special discount set at CHF35.00 on Monday and Tuesday so we tried those. Service is so-so, some airport workers were drunk and loud around the bar corner. Tastes are average, nothing special but considering the expensive Swiss meals, this restaurant is quite reasonable.

I went there 4 weeks ago for lunch with my friend and we came around 13.15 and were told that they are closing at 14.00h, then the waitress who must be the team leader stood almost by our table to speed us, I didn't like her attitude, not a smiley face, she has nothing to do in restauration and should rather work alone in the kitchen or behind the bar, not fit to bee seen by customers, I knew the previous owner and was a customer since 1997, I am so disappointedService is only terrible is this lady serves, the other waiters and waitresses are pure kindness and delight

The Ploy Thai is considered one of the better Thai restaurants in Zurich for the quality of ingredients and friendliness of service. The decor and atmosphere are definitely mid-market, not like the higher-end White Elephant at the Marriott for example. There's a take-out service and lots of customers coming in and out for something quick. But we went there with a party of seven last week and weren't disappointed. There's a good variety of curries and noodle dishes (I can recommend the Massaman curry with beef!) and you can pick the level of spiciness. The owners are always smiling and take good care of their guests. We were the first ones in and the kitchen was a little slow in bringing the food, i.e., those of us who got our food first had to wait a while before everyone else got theirs. But they seemed to pick up the pace as the evening went on and by 9 p.m. it was full and the other patrons seemed to be well served. Last but not least, the prices are quite reasonable for Zurich. Not a place to show off or splurge but solid value and a very pleasant eating experience.

This is very much a destination restaurant, off the beaten track in a dormitory town just north of Zurich, near the airport. Virtually on a commercial estate, out of the centre, easy to miss. Large spacious spotlessly clean restaurant, modern decor with Thai touches. Food is very good quality, not cheap; we had the mixed starter platter which is quite good and a special cold spicy beef salad which was excellent. Main courses were extremely tasty, not over-salted (as are many dishes in Switzerland) but we would have liked more Asian heat, it had all been rather toned down for the Swiss palate. Mr Meier, the charming owner, suggested next time we tell the waitress (his wife I think) for added heat. The service (all Thais) was impeccable as was the warm welcome. Muzak almost inaudible - thankfully. If only more Swiss restaurants could be like this one. We shall happily return - and next time we will ask for more chilli.
