I dined at Salmen for lunch. It is located in Schlieren and easily accesed with public transportation bus #31 all the way to the end of the line then one block up the hill. They offer several lunch specials (beef off your own stone grill, courdon blu, fish, pizza, pasta) which come with a choice of soup or salad, hot fresh bread and after the meal the choice of espresso, coffee, grappa or amaretto. I chose the pizza (any off the menu) salad and a grappa. The pizza was good, but a few items of note. I ordered the pizza Quattro Staggioni, menu was CHF18. There were mushrooms, artichoke, ham. The fourth ingredient was missing from the pizza. The crust was very good as was the accompanying bread, but the mushrooms tasted rubbery and canned and again the fourth item was missing. I observed that the salads were all pre-made and sitting on a layered cart.The clientele was mixed of blue and white collar workers. There is also a large separate smoking room with a tv. In the main dining room, itâs more decorated and a 180 degree bar in the back of the restaurant. The staff was efficient, but certainly did not make an effort to greet you at the door as also mentioned in other reviews. The bathrooms were located downstairs, large and clean. There is a candy bowl at the exit door.In general, my visit was ok but improvements can certainly be made in greeting guests at the door, moving the pre-made salads into the kitchen area and not as visible in the isle. Also placing the appropriate items (number of items) on the pizza, and use of fresh ingredients. A good effort was made as far as a complete meal package for the price: soup/salad, bread, main, after meal beverage. So, I would tend to stick with the pizza as to other items on the menu for a better dining experience.

everyone who likes real homemade italian food should go here. also the service/owner is very friendly and gives you could recommendations if you ask about something in the menu. just a great restaurant I will go back for sure.

My experience at Trattoria Italiana was very pleasant. Everything was perfect: Food was very delicious, crusty thin italianstyle pizza, homemade gnocchi with fresh sauce, the owner is working himself and very friendly (he's italian), service overall pays a lot of attention to the guests, we could sit outside next to a little lake (you even hear the waterfall while eating) and the price was ok. Overall: I was very happy and I will visit the restaurant again!

Now everyone likes there pizzas differently however this pizza was absolutely fantastic, the crust was nice and thin and the toppings were delicious and fresh! We also had the bruschetta and tiramisu! Highly recommend this place if youâre keen for a large and quality meal!

Tried this Pizza spot in Schlieren today for a business lunch with my team. Waiters are very friendly and efficient, but mostly the pizza was DELICIOUS. I'm Italian so I'm not that easy when it comes to Pizza :) Prices are also very affordable and the atmosphere is very cosy and nice. Insider Tip: Pizza Monte Carlo!

As asparagus is in season, I had to try their white asparagus with hollandaise starter, only to be bitterly disappointed that the hollandaise was the bottled, horrible mayonnaisey type. Ew. The veal schnitzel however, was delicious with loads of lovely lemony sauce and fresh crispy fries. My family members had cordon bleu which they also raved about and the pizzas and calzone looked huge and smelled amazing. The service was timeous and friendly and the atmosphere is part bar, part fine dining with white table clothes,etc. Certainly a good restaurant.

A nicely decorated restaurant with friendly Portuguese staff. Food is amazing, and pizzas are some of the best Iâve had. Inexpensive for Swiss prices, parking is also easily available on site. Other specialities, like the Spanish seafood Paella, are available upon request and reservation. Highly recommendable.
