Was taken here for lunch by some colleagues while visiting Eclepens for the day, we did not have long for lunch so we let the waitress know and she offered us the plate of the day (an option of chicken or pork). The chicken was delicious, was served with pasta, green beans and a tasty gravy with some bread for the table too.Service was excellent and the food was delicious.

This is where you see the real Swiss folklore, the place to go for a Fondu, croûte au fromage and many other Swiss specialities. In the summer you can sit outside if the weather is nice but if go in the evening take a pullover or jacket as it can get cool fast.Easy drive to get there, only open certain time of the year. It can get very busy so recommend you reserve.

The restaurant has just been reopened by a new Chef and we read that he had a fairly good reputation.Arrived at 20.00, seated straight away drinks order taken straight away, good.It was past 20.30 by they got around to taking our orders! A good 30 minutes later before we got the starters. Must admit they did serve a amuse Boucher compliment of the chef. The starters were all very good, Then the wait started..... It was after 22.00 when the main course came......it was a long wait, 4 of us had a platter with 3 types of fish al the fish were over cooked but the perch were badly over cooked to a point that you could not eat them.I did make a remark to the chef who offered to re-do the but by then it we had finished and it was getting on, we did not want wait longer just for this. Dessert was ok nothing really special. We will put it down to the fact that they had just opened and there is a few problem of organization in the opening days......We will go back and try again when they are more organized. Would have appreciated that they offer the aero of after dinner drink in view that part of the fish dish could not be eaten, a commercial gets is always good.

Went last sunday after visiting the grottes in vallorbe (recommended). We went with three children, who are very used to going to restaurants. Welcome was sceptic at first, we had foie gras, which was very good. Then trio of tartares. The only tartares that was good, was the fera. The salmon was too salty, the beef was mediocre. Very good local wine. The children had perches- they were also mediocre. We will try again when in neihgboorhood

For red meat lovers, this restaurant in the countryside offers a limited menu of beef and horse meat steaks. Salads are served with the main dish and local red and white wines can be ordered by the glass. To be recommended for those who want to explore little known places in quaint villages in the Swiss countryside.

Le Zingue has a very interesting concept of having different Chefs coming into cook on different days,. The meat they serve is extremely tender, fantastic. At the end of the week they serve Fillet de Perche from the Lac de Neuchatel or when ot of season from the Gottard...The choice of wine is really good as Le Zingue is also a wine cellar / shop as well so the price are kept very reasonable when you eat in the restaurant and if you like the wines you have had with the meal you can buy some to take home at retail prices. Also have midday menu.Service can be a bit hectic,,,, and slow!!

After being closed for a few year as the whole building was refurbished the restaurant has reopened smaller bit still with the same warm friendly atmosphere. It's a good place to go either as a couple, a group of friends or with the family. Can highly recommend the Pizzas freshly made and big....The home made hamburgers are also fantastic, you can also pick the size of them. They have a big blackboard on the wall where you can make choice and also has the specialities indicated.Would recommend reserving in the evenings and weekends as its a popular place. There is plenty of parking just down the road about 200m helps build up your appetite as you will not come away hungry.Nice selection of wines at decent prices. Can recommend it to any one, you won't be disappointed, you might have to wait a few minutes longer when it's busy.

In the interests of having 'Swiss' cuisine, we chose this over the Thai restaurant my husband and I have visited before. The inside of the restaurant is very 'old-school' and charming, with features that look as if they have not been moved in several decades. The service was also very friendly and prompt, and they serve Boxer beer, which I am a big fan of. The main issue for me was the food itself. Two friends and my husband had the entrecote, which seemed OK, accompanied by some decent looking vegetables and a smallish side of shoestring (thinner) fries. The waitress offered more fries in a second round, which was sweet. My dish was a bit of a let-down, hence the 3-star rating. I ordered the civet de cerf (chasse season and all that) and found the deer was too dry and too salty, and that the side of cabbage was a bit thin and not massively inspiring. Luckily the dish was only CHF 25 but I can't say I was overwhelmed by the cooking, which is a shame as I think this place would have been great otherwise.
